There are 11 Fort Locations in Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Resynced (2026 Remake). Capturing all Forts unlocks the King of the Castle trophy & achievement.
The Fort “Punta Guarico” is story-related and automatically conquered in Sequence 05 – Mission 01: The Forts, it won’t appear on the map before this. The other Forts are automatically marked on the map from the start of the game.
You should upgrade your ship a bit first. The Forts in the north are easier and the ones in the south are harder. You can also set the difficulty to the lowest level if you struggle. It’s best to approach the forts from the side, sail slowly are stay still to destroy each tower before moving on to the next. When you hit them with cannons you will see red weakspots you can shoot with the swivel gun (R1/RB). Also use your mortar (L1/LB). While your weapons recharge, keep bracing the entire time to massively reduce damage taken. A few forts are guarded by ships which you can either destroy, or if you’re lucky they will flee after destroying the Fort.
Once the Fort is destroyed, you must continue on foot and defeat all soldiers inside, then breach the door at the top. Afterward the Fort is conquered and you can fast travel to it. They also gives lots of money, upgrade materials, and cosmetics for your ship. After a Fort is conquered you can also use Kenway’s Fleet in that region (accessed via your captain’s cabin or Great Inagua Manor). This lets you send your fleet to that region to complete passive missions.
