Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Resynced has 7 Underwater Shipwrecks that contain 68 Treasure Chest Locations (61 Regular Chests, 7 Secret Chests). Opening all Underwater Treasure Chests unlocks the Seven Deadly Seas trophy & achievement.
The Shipwrecks require story progress, they are only available after Sequence 06 – Mission 01: Diving for Medicines. At this point all Shipwrecks get marked on the map automatically and you unlock the Diving Bell, which is needed to enter the Shipwrecks. Entering all Shipwrecks also counts as “Locations” toward the Cartographer trophy.
You will see ship masts sticking out of the water, interact with them to use the Diving Bell to enter the Underwater area. Then you need to swim around and open the chests. The chests get highlighted by a white dot when you hold L2/LT to zoom in. They also get marked on the map when nearby. The tracker on each Shipwreck lists a “Secret” which is a chest too but instead of money it contains a weapon or Ultimate Upgrade Plan for your ship.
While underwater you can regain your breath by interacting with air barrels or air pockets. If you get attacked by a shark, dodge sideways when the white “glint” appears on its mouth. Each chest gives around 1000 Reales, making this one of the fastest ways to earn money. The maps below have all treasure chests marked on them, just swim near them and hold L2/LT to mark them.
