Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Resynced has 11 Tavern Locations. The Taverns let you play minigames to win money (Nine-Man Morris, Checkers, Fanorona). To unlock the minigames, buy a drink at the bar and beat up the enemies that appear. They get revealed on the map when synchronizing the viewpoints.
Nothing is missable, you can still go everywhere after the story. You can see if an island has a tavern when scrolling over it on the map. You can also press D-Pad Down on the map to filter by collectible type specifically.

Located North of the Harbormaster. Approach the front counter and order a drink to start a street fight. Win the street fight to unlock the Tavern.
Île à Vache

Head to the tavern on the map and order a drink to start a street fight. Deffeating the 5 enemies will unlock the Tavern.
