The Widowmaker is a Main Story Mission in Far Cry 5. This walkthrough shows how to complete this Quest.
Region: Holland Valley (John’s Region)
Area: Fall’s End (Spread Eagle)
Quest Giver: Mary May
Requirement: None
Reward: 600 RP & The Widowmaker unlocked
After Fall’s End is liberated, take Mary May up on her invitation and visit the Spread Eagle bar in town. Talk to her behind the counter and you’ll get a quest to retrieve her father’s big rig, The Widowmaker. It means a lot to her, and to the town, but it’s also a pretty fantastic vehicle to take out on the road as it has heavy machine guns built into it that you can fire while driving! Head out east to the Grain Elevator to get started.
If you approach from the east cross-country, you can sneak in easily. If you’ve already gotten Boomer from Rae-Rae’s Pumpkin Farm, it will make this much easier, as he will tag enemies automatically so you can keep track of them as you sneak in. There will be a couple peggies patrolling the side of the warehouse which you can take out with a silenced rifle. If you manage this undetected, you can actually approach and accomplish this mission very easily with the right skills. The Locksmith perk will allow you to pick the side door of the warehouse and gain entry without any further conflict.
If you don’t have the Locksmith perk and can’t afford to buy it on the spot (you should make this a priority, believe me), there are two other methods to get access to the warehouse. A nearby note will reveal that the key is by the workshop tent on the other side of the warehouse, in an area patrolled by several cultists.
It is very difficult to obtain by stealth, so you will likely have to clear the area before finding it on the table. The other option is to use a zipline from the nearby house to reach the roof of the warehouse and drop in through an open skylight.
However you gain access to the warehouse, the next steps are clear. Hit the button to the left of the large garage door to open it, then hop in The Widowmaker and drive away.
The peggies won’t take this theft lying down, however. They’ve put up 9 roadblocks to stop you from getting back to the Spread Eagle alive. Luckily you have machine guns to kill any trucks unfortunate to come across your path, and for everything else you can plow right through them. The Widowmaker is a remarkably durable vehicle, so don’t be shy about hitting the occasional roadblock or vehicle. Usually they won’t even slow you down. After smashing through nine roadblocks, turn into the dirt lot next to the Spread Eagle and leave The Widowmaker on the waypoint, then talk to Mary May to complete the mission.

So I encountered a glitch because I found nicks plane before ever talking to him causing his icon to stay on the map saying he was under attack and they are trying to take his plane. Now when I was playing the widowmaker mission, I happened to pass nicks house and noticed it would finally let me do another mission for him hoping it would solve the first glitch. I accidentally started his mission where you drive him and his wife causing the widowmaker mission to fail and respawning me in nicks mission. Now when I track the widowmaker mission, I cant find the semi anywhere and it hasn’t respawned at the grain elevator. Anyway I can still complete it without restarting my game?

Any fixes?

Same thing happened to me except I died. The truck blew up. When I respawned the truck was gone and it now won’t let me complete it. There’s no way to reset the quest or anything. Very frustrating.

Unsolvable glitches area pain. Far Cry 5 has been reinstalled & restarted 4 times on C drive windows 10 & once on D drive windows ten but the throwable items are still unusable. Ubisoft have been less than helpful. If any one can make a useful suggestion I would be very grateful as some of the game is dependent on the ability to throw items. n.b. The relevant tutorial sections have been printed for reference & are of no use whatsoever.
