Air Raid is a Story Mission in Far Cry 5. This walkthrough shows how to complete this Quest.
- Enter Nick’s plane
- Destroy the cult fuel pump
- Destroy the convoys
- Destroy the helicopters
- Destroy the chosen airplane
Mission Starting Point:
You can play this quest right away after doing Nick Rye’s first mission “Wingman“.
Essentially, the Air Raid Story Mission has you destroy some convoys, helicopters and an airplane. The good news is that you don’t necessarily have to use Nick’s plane for any of it. It’s recommended but optional to use.
The mission starts with entering Nick’s plane at his airstrip, marked on the map simply as Plane. When you enter the mission starts. Your first target is to destroy a fuel pump. It has an objective marker of course.
Up next are the 2 convoys. Each of them consists of a fuel tanker and two enemy trucks guarding it. Kill all the enemies in the cars and destroy the tanker to wipe out the convoy.
With Nick’s plane, approach the convoy from behind and slow down a little by pressing 
/ 
(but not too much or you’ll fall to the ground). Slowing down gives you more time to shoot the cars. Then attack them with the turret by pressing 
/ 
. The turret has infinite ammo so you can always loop back behind the convoy and do another attack run. You also have bombs that you can aim by pressing 
/ 
and releasing them with / once aimed. Bombs will blow up any car in one hit but it’s tricky to make precise hits.
An alternative easy way is to bring a rocket launcher. Then drop out of the plane and open the parachute. While you glide down shoot the convoy with the rocket launcher from the air. Easy 1-hit destructions and the enemies won’t know what hit them. Of course this assumes you already unlocked a rocket launcher at a general store.
You can also build a roadblock with the plane (or any car), get out and shoot the enemies in the head as they drive past you. Remote explosives also destroy the vehicles instantly. Keep in mind you don’t have to fly Nick’s plane at all. If you find it too troublesome you can go after the convoys by car.
After destroying both convoys there are two helicopters you need to shoot out of the sky. For this you really should take Nick’s plane. Easiest way is to slow down again with / and use the turret with / to shoot them down.
Your last objective is to shoot down one attack plane. Always try to stay behind the plane and use your turret to shoot it down. It can take quite a lot of hits. A few seconds after the plane explodes the mission will finish.
This unlocks Nick’s plane “Carmina” permanently at every hangar and boat shop for free. Each time you go get the plane it will have full bombs without paying any money for it. It can now also be found at Nick Rye’s aistrip at any time!
