Monster Hunter World: How to Get Horizon Zero Dawn DLC Quest

January 26, 2018 by PowerPyx 7 Comments

In Monster Hunter World there is a timed Horizon Zero Dawn DLC Quest. It’s active from January 26th, 2018 – February 08th, 2018. It’s basically an easter egg, a quest that rewards you with special armor from PS4 exclusive game Horizon Zero Dawn.

After reaching Astera you will start receiving daily login bonuses. If you log in between the event dates you can press :triangle: to view the notification and will unlock the quest “Lessons of the Wild”. Once the event has expired there is no way to get the armor anymore, so be quick!

This quest is exclusive to the PS4 version of Monster Hunter World!

In order to start it you must first unlock 5-star assignments. So go play through story assignments until you get to this point (about halfway through the game).

“Lessons of the Wild” is a 5-star event that can be started from the quest board. You must be playing online for this! If you’re not connected to the servers you cannot select events from the quest board.

It’s a relatively simple arena quest that requires you to slay 8 small Barnos Wingdrake monsters (very easy). There’s also a large Tzitzi-Ya-Ku in the arena but it can be ignored.

Completing the “Lessons of the Wild” quest rewards you with 2 x Watch Lens which you can use at the Smithy to craft a special HZD armor set and weapon for your Palico. The weapon is called “Felyne Watcher Grinder”. The armor set is called “Watcher”, named after an enemy in Horizon Zero Dawn.

The quest is repeatable so feel free to do another round. More of these quest events are planned for the future but their release dates are still unknown. Think you can collect the full HZD armor set? Log in regularly to be notified when the next event happens.

Don’t think they announced that yet.
After the first event is over would be my best guess (not before February 08).
