Monster Hunter World: How to Unlock Camps

January 26, 2018 by PowerPyx Leave a Comment

In Monster Hunter World you can unlock additional camps / campsites for fast travel. There are many of those on each map. However, the game does not mark them nor does it explain how to get new camps.

There are two steps to it:

  1. Find a hidden campsite during a quest or expedition
  2. Complete its delivery quest to unlock the camp

Finding the Campsites

The campsites are not marked anywhere! You must find them by yourself. If you played the beta of Monster Hunter World you may still remember some of them. Generally, they are found in caves or high-up places. You will have to actively search for them and stray from the main paths to find them. If you can crouch or crawl into a cave, odds are this is a campsite – so always check them out. Camps are often around the outer edges of the map where it’s quiet and monster-free.

These are the types of places you wouldn’t normally go to because they are far-off and have nothing much of interest. During the story you automatically unlock a few additional camps.

For their locations see: Monster Hunter World All Camp Locations.

Completing the Delivery Quest

Upon finding a campsite you will hear the Handler say that a delivery quest is needed to open the camp. Head back to Astera (hub area) and in the Resource Center (at the tradeyard) choose “Complete Deliveries”. If you already have the required materials you can complete the quest instantly. If not, you will have to go looking for them. Monster Materials are acquired by hunting that monster. Bones are found from bonepiles (each map has different types of bones). For a list of materials and where to find them, check out our ever-growing Monster Hunter World Wiki.

Unlocking 5 new camps will earn you the trophy or achievement “New World Settler”.
