Unknown Skull is a crafting component in Monster Hunter World. It is used to craft various Weapons, Armor and Upgrades.
Item Description: A rare material found in bonepiles in the Elder’s Recess. It appears to be some kind of animal skull.
Location: Unknown Skull is randomly gathered from Bone Piles in the Elder’s Recess. It’s extremely rare, the rarest bone in the game, and you may need to search all bonepiles several times to get just one of them. When you’re about to find it you will notice that your character digs in the pile for longer, then holds up something shiny. You can use it to make a skull helmet that has a lot of defense. Check the following bonepiles (see locations in red circles):
- Elder’s Recess
You can get it from any of these bone piles. It’s best that you go from bonepile to bonepile and loot all of them until it drops. Then fast travel to another map to make everything respawn and go again.
The way bone collecting works is that each map has a few types of bones. Each bonepile on that map can drop any of its bones. It’s slightly random. So bones are not restricted to one pile, but rather to a certain map.
