Hornetaur is a small Monster that you can hunt and slay for crafting materials in Monster Hunter World.
Useful Information: Small insects that are found primarly on land. They’re highly territorial and will attack anything that approaches them. Gather their materials by attacking them with the slinger.
Known Habitats: Rotten Vale

What map at high rank are they? They are replaced by the little vodoo guys in rotten vail at 6*+

EDIT: Just found them, Rotten Vale, Area 4.
I replaced the screenshot with a location that works on low- and high-rank (area 4 as DK said).
