Destiny 2 All Golden Chest Locations (EDZ, Titan, Nessus, IO)

Destiny 2 has a total of 56 Golden Chest Locations. The Golden Chests (also called “Region Chests”) contain planetory tokens. It always gives 3 tokens per chest. The tokens in turn can be exchanged for legendary (purple) items at the faction vendor of the respective planet. Every 20 Tokens you bring to a vendor will reward you with a purple engram that contains two legendary gear pieces from the vendor’s reward list. After turning in the 20 tokens you can press / on the engram to see a list of all available faction rewards.

You receive 2 purple legendary gear pieces for every 20 tokens collected (7 chests opened).

Because the chests are close together and quick to collect, this is one of the most effective ways to improve your gear! Especially to increase the power level after hitting level 20. In only takes around an hour to get all golden chest locations if you follow the video guides below. That’s 16 purple gear pieces! It’s by far one of the most lucrative time investments in the game and you’ll get to explore the beautiful landscapes along the way.

The only downside is that golden chests don’t respawn once opened. They are not the only source of tokens, though. You can also get them from public events, high value targets, lost sectors, random loot chests, challenges and other activities.

You get access to all planets automatically over the course of the story. The chest locations also get marked on the world map as you progress through the game. However, some of them are still tricky to find as it doesn’t show if they are above or below ground. They are sometimes in hard to reach places. The video guides below include the region names.
