Assassin’s Creed Shadows Ancient Tomb of Nanjo Kofun Walkthrough

Ancient Tomb of Nanjo is a Kofun (dungeon) in Yamashiro region of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. It can only be done as Naoe. Yasuke can’t enter this Kofun.

Step-by-Step Guide

Important: This Kofun must be done as Naoe, the female Shinobi character. Yasuke (Samurai character) can’t do it. Only Naoe can squeeze through the entrance of the Kofun, and her grappling hook is needed at multiple points.

Ancient Tomb of Nanjo is located in Yamashiro > Eagle’s Nest.

This Kofun is a bit of a maze. The hard part is to not get lost. Follow these directions exactly step by step from one room to the next. The video guide will be easier to follow for this however.

1. As Naoe, go down the Kofun entrance and squeeze through the gap (Yasuke can’t enter the gap because he’s too big to squeeze through gaps). Head straight until you do a leap of faith into water.
2. Swim out of the water straight ahead, jump down into the next room where you see another pool of water behind a railing. Instead of entering the water, take the right path until you jump down to another room.
3. Take the right path, sliding down a slope. You’ll come to a room with two pillars in the water.
4. Jump over the two pillars in the water. On the other side do a leap of faith to a pool below.
5. Exit the pool to the left, crawl under the opening in the wall. You come to a room with two staircases going up.
6. Go up either staircase and follow the corridor straight ahead until you reach another big room with a pool.
7. Jump down into the pool, swim out the left, climb up the pillar, go through the door upstairs. You’ll drop down to another room with multiple paths.
8. Go straight. You will slide down a slope and then reach a huge chamber with water and pillars.
9. Climb the pillars. Use the grappling hook to swing across the top of the room to the other side.
10. Climb the pillars and go upstairs until you reach the top. You will drop down to another room.
11. Go left. You will slide down a slope. Then crawl under a wall and hop over little pillars in the water, use grappling hook to swing across to the legendary chest.
