A Chance Encounter is the 51st main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the A Chance Encounter main mission.

- Quest Giver: Available automatically after completing the quest The Wheel Unmasked
- Requirement: Available immediately after completing the quest The Wheel Unmasked
- Recommended Level: 30
- Reward: 1000 EXP
- Quest Description: A mysterious ally has called for aid from Yamato, and a miko maiden serving at the Omiwa Shrine is waiting.
Find Fuyu
To track A Chance Encounter, navigate to the Objectives Board. Scroll to the Shunbakufu group and select the quest underneath The Wise.
You find the Omiwa Shrine in a new region, Yamato. An easy path to take is to leave your hideout, head north, and then go east along the ridge.
The miko you’re searching for is standing at the north end of the Omiwa Shrine. Interact with her to continue.
Follow Fuyu to the shrine
Feel free to auto-follow Fuyo in this part.
Pray at the shrine
Interact with the shrine in front of you.
Pray at the second shrine
The second shrine sits due east of your current position.
You can cut across the landscape to reach it.
Pray at the third shrine
The third one is southeast of you. Follow the left path right behind the last shrine to reach the third shrine.
Interact with the shrine to continue the quest.
The following cutscene presents you with a dialogue option:
- [I won’t tell you who I am after.]
- [You’re right.]
The choice doesn’t change anything.
Talk to Tsutsui Junkei
If you haven’t been there yet, head northwest to reach Koriyama.
Talk to the large man standing outside of the back door at this building.
The cutscene presents you with a dialogue choice:
- [I fear the spirits.]
- [I worship as part of my education.]
Your choice here doesn’t affect the story.
The end of the quest here gives you an option to switch characters if you wish.
