Astray is the 47th main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Astray main mission.

- Quest Giver: Available automatically after completing the quest A Voice in Anger
- Requirement: Available immediately after completing the quest A Voice in Anger
- Recommended Level: 26
- Reward: 1000 EXP
- Quest Description: Clues to the Ox’s occupation of Miki Castle might be found in Hiraiyama Fort, where he previously staged his assault.
Retrieve the Ox’s invasion plans
You can track this quest using the Objectives Board. Scroll to the Shinbakufu and select the quest underneath The Ox.
Hiraiyama Fort is located northeast of the Tanjosan Myoyoji Temple.
The easiest approach is to run around to the northeast corner of the fort and find this spot to enter.
You can use this spot with both Yasuke and Naoe.
Get here, then climb up the wall. If you hang from a pole, the soldier on the other side somehow cannot see you.
In one flowing string, climb up and assassinate the guard. Then, turn around and interact with the map on the table.
A cutscene plays, and you face a dialogue option:
- [You shouldn’t have attacked me.]
- [I won’t hurt you.]
Choose whichever you wish. These do not affect the story progression.
Meet with Nakamura Tadashige
Head back out of the temple the same way you came in. Then, head north.
When you enter the Kyokaji Temple, you see Nakamura Tadashige speaking with someone. Talk to him to finish the quest.
This finishes Astray in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
