Restless Spirits is the 53rd main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Restless Spirits main mission.

- Requirement: Available immediately after completing the quest A Chance Encounter

- Reward: 1000 EXP
- Quest Description: Though the shrines seem unsafe with angry kami, a group of Shinto priests gather to seek help from a gokenin in Katsuragi.
Talk to the priests
To track Restless Spirits, navigate to the Objectives Board. Scroll to the Shinbakufu group and select the quest underneath The Wise.
The priests are talking in the middle of Kasturagi.
Search for clues in the manor
Make your way to the sound end of Katsuragi to Gokenin Manor.
As to be expected, this place is hostile.
There are four clues you can find. However, the one clue needed to progress the story is found in the building near the southwest corner of the manor, titled the “Urgent Instructions from the Messenger.”
Climb over the wall and enter the house in front of you.
Find the note on a table in the center of the house.
Find the meeting spot
The meeting spot is found at the Hachiman Shrine east of Katsuragi. Follow the river east until you reach a bridge.
Talk to Kojiro
Approach the shrine and speak to Kojiro.
Kill the bandit chief
Head southeast to the Takatori Castle Ruins.
Find this spot on the east side of the castle. Use the leaning tree to climb up into the castle.
When inside, make your way to the southwest corner of the castle.
There, you find the bandit chief patrolling around the camp.
Even though you could just assassinate the bandit chief and call it a day, the next step requires you to take out all of the baddies in this area.
So, you might as well clear them out as you go.
Secure the area
If you have anymore enemies in the area, take them out now.
Inspect the bandit hoard
After dispatching all enemies, step into the tall building nearby.
When inside, interact with a note.
