Assassin’s Creed Shadows Game Length

Are you wondering how long is Assassin’s Creed Shadows? Depending on chosen difficulty and playstyle it can vary quite a lot.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows story took me 35 hours to beat.

The 35 hours is for a story-only playthrough on the easiest difficulty, skipping all dialogues. However, I was around 15 levels below quest requirement as I intentionally ignored all side activities until after the story, so all enemies had a skull icon and would one-hit me, thus it’s more comparable to playing on the highest difficulty. It can be done faster if you sufficiently level up along the way by finishing castles and other collectibles. It’s worth noting that the save game doesn’t track time spent in menus (such as map screen or inventory). Counting the time spent in menus would add 5 hours.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Story Length Estimates:

• 35 Hours Speedrun on Easiest difficulty with one-hit stealth assassinations enabled, skipping all Dialogue & Cutscenes, ignoring all side activities
• 50 Hours on Normal Difficulty, listening to all dialogue, moderate exploration (40% completion). This is how most players will enjoy the game and what will be applicable to most.
• 60 Hours+ on Highest Difficulty, listening to all dialogue, 70%+ completion. This is what a thorough run will look like.

Time to uncover full map (all viewpoints):

• It took me 13 hours to fully unfog the map. Unlike most other AC games, the map doesn’t get unfogged from viewpoints. You have to walk everywhere yourself to unfog in a radius around you. Due to the world being very mountainous it’s often not practicable to ride in a straight line when there are environmental obstacles in the way. Exploration during winter season also takes longer due to snow slowing down on-foot movement.

100% Completion / Platinum Trophy / 1000 Gamerscore:

• Platinum Trophy / 1000 Gamerscore: 50-75 hours. Most of the side content can be ignored for it. You only need to complete around 30% of the side content.
• To get 100% Completion in Assassin’s Creed Shadows it takes 80-90 Hours: Around 35-50 hours for story, 10 hours to sync all viewpoints, 10 hours for all side activities/collectibles, 20 hours for all optional/side quests.

The story consists of defeating all 12 Onryo/Shinbakufu members, and finishing the stories of Naoe, Yasuke, Junjiro. Then there’s only open world cleanup left of remaining quests and collectibles.
