- Assist with Master Yuffie’s Second Lesson
- Assist with Master Yuffie’s Third Lesson
- Assist with Master Yuffie’s Fourth Lesson
- Return to Gongaga Village
Starting Location: Teach Me, Great Warrior (The Rookie’s Request)
You can accept the Odd Job from the Community Noticeboard in Gongaga Village, or you can go directly to the quest giver at the South Gate.
Commence Sotetsu’s Education
Follow Sotetsu and agree to start the training.
Assist with Master Yuffie’s First Lesson
For the first lesson, you will have to fight some enemies and complete a few objectives, just like with Fiend Intel:
- Help Sotetsu strike the enemy three times.
- Pressure an enemy.
- Don’t let Sotetsu fall in battle.
Sotetsu should attack the enemies three times pretty much immediately, and it will be easy to keep him alive as these are pretty weak enemies. To pressure one, just use a fire attack on the Frightflower or an ice attack on the Amphidex.
Assist with Master Yuffie’s Second Lesson
Follow Sotetsu and you will have to complete some more objectives:
- Pressure enemies twice.
- Stagger an enemy.
- Don’t let Sotetsu fall in battle.
All the enemies here are weak to ice, so you should be able to pressure multiple with an ice attack and then follow up with Focused abilities (like Cloud’s Focused Thrust to stagger them quickly while they’re pressured).
Assist with Master Yuffie’s Third Lesson
Continue down the rope for the third lesson:
- Stagger enemies twice.
- Defeat all enemies within the time limit.
- Don’t let Sotetsu fall in battle.
You will have two minutes to complete the battle, which should be plenty of time. These enemies will pressure when hitting them with powerful offensive abilities like Braver or Triple Slash, with the Grandhorns specifically needing to be hit when they’re guarding or counterattacking. Follow up with Focused abilities to get two staggers, then just focus on killing them quickly. If needed, heal Sotetsu so he doesn’t fall.
Assist with Master Yuffie’s Fourth Lesson
Cross the river to the Secret Gym and you’ll have your fourth lesson:
- Don’t let Sotetsu fall in battle.
Your only objective here is to make sure Sotetsu doesn’t fall. You will be facing two Mastodons. They are weak to fire, so use that on them and do damage when they’re resting to pressure them. Heal up Sotetsu whenever he gets too hurt.
Return to Gongaga Village
Now that you’re done with the lessons, return to Gongaga Village and speak to Sotetsu.
