Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Missing: Mr. Birdie Walkthrough

Missing: Mr. Birdie is a side quest in Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Rebirth. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Missing: Mr. Birdie Side Mission (Odd Job). It’s also known as Mr. Birdie’s Buddies’ Request. It requires you to create bird traps to locate Cloud Jr.

Missing: Mr. Birdie becomes available at the North Corel Community Noticeboard after completing Chapter 8.

Starting Location: Missing: Mr. Birdie (Mr. Birdie’s Buddies’ Request)

You can accept the Odd Job from the Community Noticeboard in North Corel, or you can go directly to the quest giver at the Lookout.

Obtain the Transmuter Chip

You will need to find a Transmuter Chip, and in order to find the location of one, you will need to complete 4 of the 6 Expedition Intel lifesprings in Corel Region. These are revealed on the map by activating Remnawave Towers. After completing four of them, Chadley will relay the location for the Transmuter Chip at Excavation Intel 2: Deserted Village. Head to this location, then use your chocobo to sniff out the item and dig for it with .

Old Republic Birdhouse

Now that you have the Transmuter Chip, you will need to create the Bird Trap. This requires 5 Sage, 3 Mist Seeds and 3 Marjoram, which are all very common materials so you should have plenty.

Make three of them, then go to the three birdhouses to place the traps.

Check the First Bird Trap

After placing all three traps, head back to the first one to check it. There will be some Cyclone Drakes, so kill them.

Check the Second Bird Trap

Now head to the second trap. This time you’ll fight some Cactrots.

Check the Third Bird Trap

Head to the last trap where you will find Cloud Jr., but also a Gigant Bomb you will have to fight. You will want a ranged character for this, as when he casts Inflame you’ll take constant damage when within melee distance.
