Stuck in a Rut is a side quest in Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Rebirth. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Stuck in a Rut Side Mission (Odd Job). It requires you to capture a chocobo and repair Gabe’s carriage.
Stuck in a Rut becomes available at Gabe’s Ranch when arriving in the Junon Region.

Area: Junon Region – Gabe’s Ranch

Requirement: Available after arriving in Junon Region
Reward: Queensguard Bangle, 10x Condor Cedar, 10x Mellow Oak, Access to Chocobo Carriage service between regions, Aerith Relationship Strengthened, 10 Party EXP, Player EXP (scaled to your level)

- Report to the Wainwright

Starting Location: Stuck in a Rut
Capture Belle
From the Ranch, head west to find the chocobos. In order to reach Belle undetected, you will need to use the switches to move the carts, then sneak behind them. Use rocks in the area to throw at the switches.
Head to the Wainwright’s Hut
Now that you have a Mountain Chocobo, you will be able to scale walls in Junon Region. There is a wall to the northeast of Gabe’s Ranch, so climb it and continue up the right path until you reach the hut. Once there, speak to the sleeping Wainwright.
Gather Materials for the Wainwright
The Wainwright will give you a map of the nearby area with three red crosses on it. You will need to head to these locations and use your chocobo to sniff out the materials and dig them up. You only need one to complete the quest, but you’ll get the best reward if you collect all three. When near one of these, be sure to ride on your chocobo, a red “?” icon will appear above its head. Hold 
and tilt the right stick in the indicated direction to see a scent line leading you to the treasure, dig it up with

Wainwright Material Location 1: For the first location, go to the base of the large structure to the north of Gabe’s Ranch.
Wainwright Material Location 2: For the second location, head west and go behind a small damaged house.
Wainwright Material Location 3: For the third location, head to the path just north of where you caught your chocobo to find this by a rock.
Report to the Wainwright
Now return to the Wainwright’s Hut and speak to him.
Deliver the Carriage Parts
Head to Gabe’s Ranch and deliver the parts to him.
