Livestock’s Bane is a side quest in Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Rebirth. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Livestock’s Bane Side Mission (Odd Job). It’s also known as the Farmer’s Request. It requires you to track down and kill a fiend that’s been killing livestock.
Livestock’s Bane becomes available at the Kalm Community Noticeboard after completing the “Break in the Saddle” Main Objective where you learn to ride your chocobo.
Side Quest: Livestock’s Bane
Chapter: 2
Area: Grasslands – Oliver’s Farm (available from Kalm Community Noticeboard)
Quest Giver: Nature-Loving Farmer
Requirement: Available after completing the “Break in the Saddle” Main Objective
Reward: Owl Bracer, Red XIII Relationship Strengthened, 10 Party EXP, Player EXP (scaled to your level)
Mission Info: A clever fiend of some sort’s been preying on my livestock of late, and if I can’t put a stop to it, my farm’s doomed. Seems clear a run-of-the-mill hunter won’t cut it, so I’m in the market for a merc with solid tracking skills.
Objectives:
- Investigate the Scene of the Attack
- Search the Area with a Chocobo
- Defeat the Fiend
- Report to Oliver
Starting Location: Livestock’s Bane (Farmer’s Request)
You can accept the Odd Job from the Community Noticeboard in Kalm, or you can go directly to the quest giver at Oliver’s Farm.
Investigate the Scene of the Attack
Follow Red XIII and investigate the scene.
Search the Area with a Chocobo
Get on your Chocobo, then hold 
to track the scent. Once the yellow scent trail appears, follow it until you arrive at a beach.
Defeat the Fiend
Now that you’ve found the fiend, defeat the White Terror.
Report to Oliver
Return to Oliver at his farm.
