Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Beneath Still Waters Walkthrough

Beneath Still Waters is a side quest in Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Rebirth. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Beneath Still Waters Side Mission (Odd Job). It’s also known as Midgar Seventh Infantry Request. It requires you to help the Midgar Seventh Infantry to defeat a fearsome fiend.

Beneath Still Waters becomes available at the Under Junon Community Noticeboard in the Junon Region after completing the “Tides of War and Worry” Side Quest.

Requirement: Available after completing the “Tides of War and Worry” Side Quest
Reward: Telluric Scriptures Vol. VI (10 Aerith SP), Aerith Relationship Strengthened, 10 Party EXP, Player EXP (scaled to your level)
Mission Info: Be advised: a fearsome fiend is presently contained within Crater Cape. Civilians are strongly encouraged to avoid this area until the threat has been addressed. Active duty and retired military are requested to render assistance.

Track Down the Hell Rider II
Pursue the Hell Rider II

Starting Location: Beneath Still Waters (Midgar Seventh Infantry Request)

You can accept the Odd Job from the Community Noticeboard in Under Junon, or you can go directly to the quest giver at Crater Cape.

Defeat the Cornered Fiend

Follow the Infantrymen and defeat the Hell Rider II, then it will flee.

Track Down the Hell Rider II

Use your chocobo to track the scent trail (mount your chocobo, hold when the red question mark appears, tilt the right stick in the indicated direction). Then follow the scent trail. As you track it you will need to defeat some other fiends.
