Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Remake Rat Problem Walkthrough

Rat Problem is a side quest in Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Remake. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Rat Problem Side Mission (Odd Job). It requires you to find and kill the doomrats.

Rat Problem becomes available when you’ve talked to Chadley for the first time during the “Problem Solving” Main Objective.

Area: Sector 7 Slums Area – Residential Area
Quest Giver: Item Store Owner
Requirement: Automatic story-related after talking to Chadley for the first time during “Problem Solving” main objective.
Reward: 5x hi-potion, 1x HP and MP fully restored, Manuscript: The Art of Swordplay Vol. V (Hard Difficulty Only)
Mission Info: The Item Store Owner complains of a rat infestation. Head to the edge of town and slay wererats until the doomrats appear.

Objectives:

• Find the wererats and kill them
• Return to Item Store Owner, talk to him
• Go back to rat area and kill doomrats
• Return to Item Store Owner

Starting Location: Rat Problem

Find the wererats and kill them

Mark the quest on your map and head north. Go up some stairs, into the interior of a rounded room with a green floor, and go straight ahead and duck under a pipe to come out into an open area. Kill the wererats, which are low-level and simple fodder.

Return to Item Store Owner, talk to him

After killing the wererats, run back to the Item Store and speak to the owner.

Go back to rat area and kill doomrats

Then, go back through the pipe to the outdoor area and three doomrats will have appeared. They’re slightly tougher than the previous rodent foes but should still pose little trouble at this stage.

Return to Item Store Owner

After killing them, the game gives you the option of returning to the Item Store automatically, or you can walk yourself if you wish. Either way, he will give you 5 hi-potions, restore your HP and MP and offer you a discount on some shop items.

This finishes the Rat Problem side quest in Final Fantasy VII Remake.
