Temple of the Horseman is the 21st main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Temple of the Horseman main mission.

- Quest Description: Lord Mitsuhide’s son-in-law and co-conspirator, Lord Ise Sadaoki, has a task that will help Naoe gain entry to Honnoji.
Meet Mitsuhide
Go south down the road from Toji Temple until you reach Shoriyuji.
Go into town and speak to Mitsuhide in front of the southernmost building.
He asks you if you are ready to take the fight to Oda Nobunaga.
- [Let’s go.]
- [I’m not ready.]
The only way to progress is to choose “Let’s go.”
Assassinate Oda Nobunaga
You take control in the southeast corner of Honnoji Temple. Go east until a wall glitch appears in the Animus.
Run north along that side of Honnoji Temple until the glitch stops you from continuing on the outside wall.
Climb down and hide in the well. You can use this to take out several of the enemies by whistling to bait them over to you.
Climb up the wall just north of you. Then jump across to the next two rooftops.
When you reach a gap, look down to see a guard by the water. Drop down to the ground and assassinate him from the tall bush.
Continue north along the outer edge and go around the corner of the house.
Hide in the bushes along the north wall. Stay low when the bushes aren’t favorable.
When dealing with these enemies, it’s best to assassinate them and not use your kunai. The enemies mostly wear headgear, and that can keep you from getting a one-shot kill.
An enemy stands guard outside the northern door of the building where Oda Nobunaga holed himself up. Move with caution around him when he’s moving around.
When you get close, whistle to him to take him out by the bushes.
Use the north door, and a cutscene begins.
This leaves you in a one-on-one fight with Oda Nobunaga.
This fight goes relatively quickly, but you still have three short phases. These phases are stopped by short scenes, but the phases are the exact same. Just parry and dodge his attacks as needed and cut him down.
After a cutscene, you end up back at your hideout.
Tomoki prompts a dialogue choice:
- [Junjiro must be found.]
- [I need to get to Mitsuhide.]
This finishes Temple of the Horseman in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. After this, you immediately move into Lighting and Thunder.
