Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Dagger to the Heart Side Quest Walkthrough

October 6, 2018 by Jack McBastard 13 Comments

Dagger to the Heart is a Side Quest in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. This walkthrough shows how to complete the quest.

Recommended Level: 31
Region: Euboea / Dirfi Foothills
Requirements: Part of the side quest Sharp Tongue
Reward: 75XP

Objectives:

  • Talk to the Theater Owner About The Dagger
  • Find and Deal with the Dagger Associate
  • Return to the Couple at the Theater
  • Kill the Remaining Dagger Members

Dagger to the Heart Starting Location

Objective: Talk to the Theater Owner About The Dagger

Interrupt the squabbling pair to ask about The Dagger. The Theater Owner promises to give you information in exchange for killing one of The Dagger’s operatives who owes them money. Seems like a win/win to me.

Objective: Find and Deal with the Dagger Associate

Follow the waypoint until you are within 150M, then call Ikaros to pinpoint the man’s location. Talk to the smuggler, and try to reason with him. Chances are, you’ll end up having to kill him and his guards.

Objective: Return to the Couple at the Theater

Unfortunately, it gets worse. The Dagger’s thugs have captured the couple, and are threatening their lives. They force you to choose which of the two should die. Choose either to spare Idyia or Prexileos, and the other will die.

Be warned however, if you attack instead both of them will be killed, leaving a lot of crying children at the end of the mission.

Objective: Kill the Remaining Dagger Members

Whatever you choose, kill all the bandits to complete the mission.

This concludes the Dagger to the Heart Side Quest in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey (ACOD). For all other side quests check out the full Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Side Quests Walkthrough.

You can say them both if you attack from a distance without triggering the cutscene.

I did the same. Kids were still crying but both lived

If you attack from a distance (and you’re quick) rather than engaging in conversation you can keep both of them alive.

It’s actually possible to save them both by attacking the dagger members before the cutscene/dialogue is triggered, shoot them from afar

I did it by triggering combat with a bounty hunter nearby to prevent the cutscene from activating (since “You must be anonymous”) then rushing in with the slow mo ability then immediately popping flashbang (vanish). Finished them off with my flaming Two Hander.

When I approached from afar I already heard somebody yelling and was up on guard. Took out the bad guys with my bow. This will start another cutscene where both are hurt but alive. They then ask you to deal with the rest of the dagger guys (there is a dialogue option there once more)

I messed up and loaded and autosave which just triggered combat and managed to kill them before the parents died! Also I did it at level 15!

I tried that and the dad froze in time, the wife cried and the second the cutscene ended she tripped on a corpse and died

This is stupid made up in a way so if you trigger cutscene as you should you arent given any true choice or time to even try to prevent death as its part of cutscene. It would be OK if we were given choice to try to attack them during that short time or bribe or anything but it is just meaningless “hey we want to show you that you cant always save everyone” gray moral choice. I did not bother to reload save and try to save them from distance because I simply do not agree with how game creators are trying to force grayness in the world.

Isn’t that more realistic though? Life is full of grey choices.
