Lies of P – How to Unlock Hermit’s Cave

Lies of P contains a secret area called Hermit’s Cave and is the only area in the game you don’t’ go through during the main story. When you first reach Barren Swamp Bridge, you will see a gate right of the Stargazer beyond which is a collectible item. Next to the gate is a side character called Rookie Explorer Hugo. If you talk to him long enough, he will tell you that if often swing by to say Hi, he will eventually open the gate. However, this is not true unless you do a few extra steps. Here’s how to unlock the gate and get access to Hermit’s Cave:

1. Talk to Rookie Explorer Hugo and exhaust his dialogs to obtain a Cryptic Vessel. 
2. Return to Hotel Kraft and give Venigni the Cryptic Vessel. 
3. Continue through the story as normal until you reach the top of the building with all the swordsmen in Collpased Street. 
4. Drop down to the side where you see a fire-spitting puppet walking, then go past him and collect the Special Krat Supply Box from the chest. 
5. Return to Hotel Krat and give Polendina the Box. 
6. Buy the Rusty Cryptic Vessel from his updated shop. 
7. Hand it to Venigni for decryption. 
8. Return to Barren Swamp Bridge stargazer to find that the gate is now open. And voilà, now the path to Hermit’s Cave is unlocked.
