In Final Fantasy VII Rebirth each region has its own unique Chocobo variant. These must be unlocked through different methods in every region. This guide explains how to unlock the Chocobo in Junon region.
Junon Chocobo
Chocobo in Junon region is unlocked from Side Quest: Stuck in a Rut. This side quest starts at Gabe’s Ranch, it’s available from the start of Chapter 4. As part of the first objective of this quest you must wrangle a chocobo, which unlocks it as a permanent mount.
Junon Chocobos are colored grayish blue. Their ability is to climb up specially marked mountain walls.
