Defensive Position is the 14th main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, but depending on choices you might get Driving the Point Home instead. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Defensive Position main mission.

- Quest Giver: Automatically appears after confronting Otami in the quest The Tea Ceremony.
- Requirement: Choose to confront Otami in the quest The Tea Ceremony.
- Recommended Level: 8
- Reward: 2000 EXP, 2 Master Points
- Quest Description: Wakasa is the masked woman who shot Naoe with a gold-trimmed teppo. This former pirate clawed her way from the bottom to the heights of Sakai society, and she wants the world to know it.
Assassinate Wakasa
You can track this quest from the Objectives Board. Scroll to the Onryo Group and select the quest icon underneath Wakasa.
Make your way to Osaka Castle.
A recommended path starts at the point indicated below. You know you’re in the correct place when you’re standing next to three enemies talking to each other.
Head north until you reach a short wall. Climb over it to see a moat.
Follow the moat, passing by a short tower, and climb up the tall tower.
Look directly west from here, and you see where Wakasa sits.
Right away, look down to see one guard messing with the wall below you. Assassinate him.
From the stone, look east to see a corner of the outside wall. Go there and use your grappling hook to climb up.
Go north to the next roof.
From there, you can see a path along the top of the wall to the construction site where Wakasa sits. Enemies patrol to the right, but you can stay on the left side of the wall roof to stay out of sight.
Crouch along the wall and follow it to the construction site.
Up here, you only need to worry about one other enemy other than Wakasa. Watch where Wakasa is looking, because she has much better awareness than the normal grunts.
Take out the other enemy to make your life easier. Then, go and assassinate Wakasa when she’s looking away.
If you get spotted and have to deal with Wakasa the old fashioned way, don’t worry. No matter if you get detected while killing Wakasa, you still appear outside of the castle free and clear when the cutscene ends.
