Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Rebirth How to Import Save

February 29, 2024 by PowerPyx Leave a Comment

In Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, you can import your save from Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 1 & Yuffie’s Intermission DLC. However, there are limits to what gets imported. Most importantly, progress from Remake Part 1 doesn’t carry over. The saves only unlock some bonus items for use in Rebirth. This page explains how it works.

How to Import Save

  1. On first bootup click New Game > the game will prompt you with a screen “Bonus-Item Eligible Saved Data” > click CHECK.
  2. If compatible saves are found you will receive bonus items. If not you will get a popup that no eligible saved data was found on your console.

You retry the save import any time from Title Screen > Bonuses > Check Saved Data.

What Saves Are Compatible?

You need to have a compatible save on your PS5 console. The save must be from the same account you are playing with (all saves are account-bound).

  • Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Demo – PS5 Save: If you played the Rebirth demo on your account you can import this.
  • Final Fantasy VII Remake – PS4 Save: If you had the PS4 version or PS5 version of Remake Part 1 installed and you still have the save on your console/account, you can import this. If not, check PlayStation Plus if you still have the save there. If you moved consoles or accounts and don’t have a backup you won’t be able to import this.
  • FF7R EPISODE INTERmission – PS5 Save: If you bought the Intergrade PS5 version with the Yuffie DLC, you can import this. Must still have the save on the same PS5 console/account (or download from PS+ if you have it backed up).

What does each Save Unlock?

Progress from Final Fantasy VII Remake DOESN’T carry over! You only gain access to some bonus items if you got importable saves.

  • Rebirth Demo (PS5) = Kupo Charm & Survival Set, and can skip Chapter 1 if you completed it in the demo
  • Remake Part 1 (PS4/PS5) = Leviathan Summoning Materia unlocked
  • Intergrade Yuffie DLC (PS5) = Ramuh Summoning Materia unlocked

That’s all there is to know about save imports in FF7 Rebirth. For more guides check out Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Wiki.
