- Quest Giver: Corpse Under Downed Tree
- Requirement: Complete “All Good Things“
- Fail State: Must be completed before Sacred Covenant
- Reward: None
- Time Required: None
- Quest Description: I have a feeling something bad has happened in the woods by the peat bogs. Maybe I should take a closer look?
Objectives:
- Follow the tracks
- Report your findings to Zdislav
Starting Location: If a Tree Falls in the Forest…
Simply inspect the corpse beneath the downed tree near the Northern Foothills shrine.
Follow the Tracks
Use Focus Mode to follow the tracks deeper into the foothills. Keep going until you reach your second corpse. Another Brencis soldier dead, and strange noises and lights flit about the area.
Keep following the tracks of the second man, who has ditched his sword and shield. You can’t pick up the shield, but the sword is fair game. You’ll see he lost a shoe, but didn’t slow down as he threw himself off the cliff to land on the rocks below.
Climb down for a closer look. It’s an Uriash in a Brencis uniform. Check his pockets for loose change, and you’ll also find a Witch’s Pendant and the soldier’s orders. Read them to find out that there have been reports of strange noises and lights in the area, and they had been sent to investigate. The good news is, they were successful in finding the strange phenomena. Unfortunately that also seems to be the bad news.
Report Your Findings to Zdislav
Head back into town and let your elderman know what you’ve found. Zdislav isn’t happy but he says to leave it with him, and that he will talk to Brencis’s men and make sure they know the village had no hand in their death. Buck successfully passed!
This finishes If a Tree Falls in the Forest… side quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker.
