Objectives:
- Investigate Gremla’s shed and its surroundings using Focus Mode
- Search for villagers with walking canes using Focus Mode
- Speak with Otokar (optional)
- Speak with Dana (optional)
- Speak with Premysl (optional)
- Report Premysl to Gremla or keep his secret
Starting Location: Blasphemy
You’ll encounter Gremla outside her shed, crying in the center of a crowd of villagers.
Investigate Gremla’s Shed and its Surroundings Using Focus Mode
Talking with Gremla, you’ll learn that the banner that she had been weaving for Brencis has been stolen. She’s convinced that the vrakhir will kill her if it is not returned (and she’s right). When the option occurs, ask her “Mind if I have a look round?” Inside the shed, you’ll see Gremla’s loom has been broken, the peg snapping when the banner was yanked off of it. Head back outside and look on the south side of the shed to find some footprints leading away. Inspect them, and Coen will note that the footprint is too wide to be Gremla’s. Inspect them again and he’ll note a hole next to the right foot, as if left by a cane.
Continue in that direction, and you’ll find a scrap of the banner and go into an object investigation mode. Examine it, then turn it around and examine it again to discover a bloodstain. The thief was injured during the theft, possibly cut open when the loom’s peg snapped. Exit the investigation mode and Coen will summarize that he’s looking for a villager that walks with a cane and has an injured hand.
Search for Villagers With Walking Canes Using Focus Mode
Looking around the immediate vicinity in Focus Mode, you’ll notice that Alois is highlighted in gold, which means he’s not only interactive but has something to do with the quest. Talk to him, and casually ask if you can see his hands. He’ll say he isn’t a klutz like Otokar.
Speak With Otokar (Optional)
Follow the new marker to Otokar, who will be planing a wooden beam near his house. Looks like he has an injured hand too.
Otokar denies any accusations made against him, saying that he hurt his hand two days before the banner was stolen, and that he doesn’t appreciate you snooping around like that nosy hag Dana.
Speak With Dana (Optional)
Follow the new marker to Dana, who will be sitting on a bench just outside her fence, right next to her walking stick.
She’s suspicious but she’s also nosy, and happens to have heard Premysl complaining about the vrakhiri desecrating the church, saying something’s got to be done about it.
Speak With Premysl (1 Time Segment)
In fact the conversations with Alois, Otokar, and Dana are optional, because at any time after you’d gotten the “Search for Villagers With Walking Canes Using Focus Mode” objective you can go straight to Premysl’s house and confront him about the banner. The question that prompts his confession is the same that triggers the time segment, “I know you stole the banner, Premysl.”
He will then show it to you and try to convince you that he was right to steal it. The choices you make in the final section will determine what quest rewards you will receive:
Responding to Premsyl:
- “Angering Brencis will put my family at risk”
- “This is just an empty gesture. Return the banner.” (Convince Premysl to return banner, 250XP)
- “Maybe you’re right…”(500XP, Daylight Amulet)
- “Maybe you’re right…” (500XP, Daylight Amulet)
- “You haven’t convinced me.” (250XP)
Then report to Gremla with your findings to resolve the quest:
- Tell Gremla “Premsyl has it.” or convince Premsyl to return the banner (325XP, 25 Denarius)
- Tell Gremla “No. I’m sorry.” (75XP)
This finishes Blasphemy side quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker.
