Where Old Devils Lie is a side quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Where Old Devils Lie side mission.

Sins of the Past) - Quest Description: Anca says she found something interesting in the books we took from the convent – something that could help me with my quest. I should ask her about that when I have the time.

- Return to Anca

- Find out what Enolf meant by ‘Lord’s symbol close to old devils, no souls to comfort me’

Starting Location: Where Old Devils Lie
Wait until Anca finishes her research
After completing the prior quest Between the Words, you need to wait for at least one full in-game day (16 time segments) before you will be able to continue this quest.
Return to Anca
Once enough time has passed, you can return to Anca at the Crossroads Inn to progress.
Solve Enolf’s riddle
Enolf’s information is a riddle describing the location of the Font of Life, and you need to determine where on the map it is referring to.
Find out what Enolf meant by ‘Lord’s symbol close to old devils, no souls to comfort me’
On the map, inspect the middle right point.
Find out what Enolf meant by ‘tormented visage etched onto clouds’
On the map, inspect the right point near the river.
Return to Anca before noon
You will need to speak with Anca when there are at least 6 time segments left in the current day, as this and the next quest “Stronger than Achilles” both take place back to back after you leave with Anca to the lake.
Find the lake Enolf mentioned
You will automatically be taken outdoors near where you need to search.
Follow Anca
Anca will start leading in the direction you need to go, you can follow behind her, dealing with any enemies that appear along the way.
Talk to Anca
Anca will automatically stop and talk to you when you reach the lake, you can respond however you want here.
Find the Font of Life
If you have been to this area before on your own then Coen will explain to Anca that you already know the location, and it will be marked for you.
Reach the ruins
If not, you need to head northeast following the river to reach the ruins area.
Go through the cave between the two parts of the river to reach the ruins.
Talk to Anca
When you reach the exterior of the ruins, Anca will automatically stop and talk to you again.
Investigate the ruins
You can inspect the area around the ruins, then enter on the right of the ruins.
Enter the ruins
Make your way over to the fallen column and go through the crack in the wall to enter the ruins.
Inspect the painting
Anca will stop you again to inspect the painting in the entrance, interact with each of the spots to progress.
Explore the ruins
There are some side rooms you can look through to pick up items if you want. To progress go down the stairs and through the metal doors.
In the next room defeat the group of enemies.
Once they are dealt with you can look around this room and inspect the paintings and statues, but don’t touch the red vines as they will damage you.
Investigate the chamber using Focus Mode
In the next room you need to inspect specific items to progress. They are highlighted when using Focus Mode (L2/LT). On the left side of the room inspect the stone mortar sitting beside the bowl, and the broken pot to the right of it.
Then inspect the painting on the right side of the room where Anca is standing.
After inspecting everything Anca will stop to talk to you again, where you talk about how you make your way into the ruins. Confirm with her when you are ready to continue. This will progress time while Anca paints ruins on Coen. Then the door opens and the next quest Stronger Than Achilles immediately starts.
