The Blood of Dawnwalker contains 4 Haunted Site Locations. Haunted Sites are open world events.
They are only accessible during the day, not at night. Go to the location, use Focus Mode (hold L2/LT) to scan for yellow-marked bodies, interact with them to loot a note. Then interact with the other body to use “Astral Communion” witchcraft skill (automatic story unlock from Prologue). This will summon a group of enemies, defeat them. This works similarly to Ancient Circles which are also exclusive to day time.
They are marked by a white skull icon 
. You can reveal them on the map by climbing all 11 Towers. Remember to use the Shapeshift skill (Vampirism) or Mercurial Fervor skill (Witchcraft) to run around the world faster.
