- Quest Description: Seems I’m not the only one looking for something in this cursed place. I came across some of Brencis’s men, sent here to retrieve St. Tyna’s necklace. They offered to open up a safe passage to the library in exchange for the relic. Something to think about.
Objectives:
- Fulfill soldier’s request to secure a passage to the library
- Search for the relic in the chapel
- Search for the Relic in the Sacristy
- Collect relic from the nun’s body
- Return to the soldiers
Fulfill Soldier’s Request to Secure a Passage to the Library
This is a sub-quest of the side quest Echoes of Silenced Bells, it will be started when you speak to the soldiers holed up in the Infirmary and tell them that you have to get into the Library. They will make a deal to let you pass if you bring them St. Tyna’s medallion.
Search for the Relic in the Chapel (1 Time Segment)
Inside the chapel, you’ll find the defiled body of St. Tyna with no sign of the necklace.
Depending on which documents you’ve read in the monastery, Coen may leap to the conclusion that the relic has been moved to the sacristy. If it’s daytime there’s also a corpse nearby that can be compelled to tell you, using one of two catalysts nearby: the rosary in the middle of the floor, and the prayerbook on one of the pews near the entrance. (At night you can’t use witchcraft to compel souls)
Go to the corpse by the stairs and cast Compel Corpse to have her confirm your instinct that the relic was moved to the Sacristy.
Search for the Relic in the Sacristy
The Sacristy is on the northwest side of the monastery, between the Dormitory and the Chapel, but to get in you’ll have to get the keys from the small wooden shack next to the chapel and against the wall. Open the door and you’ll find the key ring on the wall directly in front of you.
Inside the Sacrity, you’ll find a dead nun. Examine her and you’ll spot the necklace.
Collect Relic From the Nun’s Body
Exit the examination mode and loot the body to pick it up.
Once you’ve got the relic, you’ll see that you probably want to keep it for yourself. Head back to the infirmary to inform them of your decision.
Return to the Soldiers
If you give up the relic, the soldier keeps his word and lets you in. They all disappear with the necklace, never to be seen again. However, if you tell him that you’re not going to hand it over, they will become enraged and charge out to fight you. Defeat them to end the quest. Note that this will count as having access to the Infirmary, and will spend 3 time segments for the “Secure a safe passage to the Library for Anca” objective in “Echoes of Silenced Bells“.
On the other hand if you have spoken to Brencis’s soldiers, recovered St. Tyna’s necklace, and completed “Echoes of Silences Bells” without going back to the soldiers in the infirmary or skipping straight to the Crossroads Inn for “Between the Words” you will encounter Brencis’s Officer and men the first time you enter the courtyard. Now that the nuns are gone, they feel safe enough to come out and threaten you, even though you were strong enough to defeat the nuns. Kill them all before they realize their error.
Continue with Echoes of Silenced Bells – Objective: Investigate the Sounds Coming From the Infirmary.
This finishes Most Precious Thing side quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker.
