Ride into town is a side quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Ride into town mission.
- Region: Kii
- Questboard Category: People of Kii > Rin > Ride into town
- Requirement: Automatically available after completing the quest War Horse AND waiting for a season change.
- Recommended Level: 51
- Reward: 1000 EXP
- Quest Description: Rin eagerly awaits another round of training from sense Yasuke.
Assassinate the Ride into town
Track the quest in the Objectives Board under People of Kii > Rin after the previous quest War Horse.
Return to Rin
Location: Kii > Kumano Sanzan > Mount Omori Hut
Kill the bandits
When you get close to Rin’s hut, you see bandits attacking her. You can help, but Rin takes them out on her own quickly if you do nothing.
Talk to Rin
Interact with Rin.
Follow Rin
She goes to her horse and then leads you up the road. Follow her for a while. You cannot auto-follow in this section.
Race Rin
Head to the north side of the lake. You can go down the hillside where the path overlooks the lake.
However, if you get too far away from her, then she just stops running altogether. If this happens, then you need to go back to her to get her running again.
Wait for Rin to arrive
If you get there before her (which you likely will since the game makes her ride quite slowly), then just wait at the finish spot for her to catch up.
Follow Rin
She leads you north to Hongu.
At the edge of town, she dismounts and walks to a nearby merchant.
Talk to the merchant
Interact with the merchant, which leads to a dialogue option:
- [I will take salmon onigiri]
- [Plum onigiri, please.] – Romance
- [I will have the salted onigiri.]
These choices do not affect the path of the quest. However, choosing “Plum onigiri, please” increases your favor with Rin.
Follow Rin
You can auto-follow in this section. She stops at a couple shops along this stretch.
Interact with Rin
Speak to Rin, which leads to a dialogue option:
- [I will buy you a musical instrument.]
- [I want to draw a picture of you.] – Romance
The outcome of this choice is the same, but choose “I want to draw a picture of you” if you want to nurture your relationship with Rin.
Draw Rin
She walks over to some nearby rocks. Draw her there. You automatically collect the quest item “Rin’s Portrait.”
Follow Rin
She now leads you across the bridge. You can auto-follow here if you wish.
Talk to Rin
Speak to her on the other side of the bridge to prompt a dialogue option:
- [I would like to kiss you.] – Romance
- [I want to be great friends.]
The quest ends after this no matter which option you choose. However, choose “I would like to kiss you” to seal the deal with Rin.
