Blood of Dawnwalker The Lunar Game Walkthrough

September 2, 2026 by Gage Leave a Comment

The Lunar Game is a main quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Lunar Game main quest.

  • Starting Location: Lunar Manor
  • Requirement: Reach maximum anger with Bakir by completing Court Activities
  • Fail State: None
  • Reward: 500 XP, Legendary Medium Chestplate: Bakir’s Armour (if you kill him outright and loot his body), Shadowstorm Vampiric Ability (if you drain Bakir)
  • Time Required: 6 Time Segments
  • Quest Description: I was approached by an odd man named Farkas. He claims to be Bakir’s Servant and that he could help me slay his master.

Objectives:

  1. Wait for the right opportunity
  2. Meet with Farkas
  3. Keep yourself busy until dusk
  4. (Optional) Talk to the other contestants
  5. (Optional) Find a way to undermine your rivals
  6. (Optional) Poison the liquor
  7. Navigate the maze and reach the willow tree
  8. Retrieve the coin
  9. Defeat Bakir

Wait for the right opportunity

Once you reach maximum anger with Bakir from completing Court activities, you will eventually be approached by a man named Farkas who asks for your help to deal with Bakir.

Meet with Farkas

After agreeing to help, you can meet Farkas outside Lunar Manor.

To actually start the competition, you need to wait until specifically Afternoon (5 time segments through daytime). You can choose to wait until then when speaking to Farkas, but it would be recommended to complete other activities or use this time to upgrade your abilities to not waste time on waiting.

Keep yourself busy until dusk

Once you enter the area, you have three segments of time where you can keep yourself busy. This gives you some time to interact with the other contestants if you want.

(Optional) Talk to the other contestants

The contestants are around the outside of the area, and can be spoken to to learn about them or try to convince them to help. You can engage in initial conversation with all of them before deciding if you want to spend a time segment talking to them.

Speaking with the other contestants won’t do a whole lot on its own. The Marten is receptive if you tell them that you want to kill Bakir. The Porcupine isn’t as much, but if you speak to him now then he will offer to not fight you when you encounter him during the maze.

(Optional) Find a way to undermine your rivals

If you want to try undermining one of them, you can go to the bush that is in the corner of the area choose to take some leaves from it.

(Optional) Poison the liquor

You can then go to the jug that is beside The Cockroach and interact with it to poison it.

After the three time segments have elapsed from whatever you end up deciding to do, you will be in dialogue section where Bakir is speaking to the group. At any time during this dialogue section if you choose the bottom option you will immediately fight Bakir and his group, skipping the entire rest of this quest, but be warned you will do this with effectively no equipment, as you are meant to obtain items during the maze section, and that is how you make the fight against Bakir easier.

Navigate the maze and reach the willow tree

After getting through the dialogue you will be in the maze section. This area is linear, not really a maze, and your goal is to progress through it defeating enemies, while looting items to give yourself gear upgrades. If you are on Duelist you should make a quicksave after each fight to make sure you don’t need to replay large chunks of the area if you accidentally die. You also aren’t allowed to use Vampiric Abilities during this section to stop Bakir knowing it’s you, so stick to using your sword and Swordmastery abilities. There are a couple of interior areas you can enter with a bunch of rats that you can feed on to regain health, and you won’t be noticed.

Eventually when you progress you will encounter The Porcupine. If you spoke to him earlier then he will offer to go past you and not fight, but if you didn’t, then he forces you to fight him. If you fight him he will stop the fight before you kill him and ask for mercy which you can agree to, but he will end up dead shortly.

Continue progressing and you will encounter a trap box that you must deal with to open the next door. The note on top is meant to be a riddle, with the answer being that the “Left one it is…” is the correct hole to select to avoid being injured.

Continue and you will eventually encounter The Cockroach. If you poisoned the drink earlier then he will be on the ground unable to fight, and you can kill him instantly. If you didn’t then you will have to fight him as normal.

Retrieve the coin

After progressing into the next room, you are asked to obtain the coin, from inside one of the other competitors’ bodies. You can choose to do this or not, it does not have a significant effect on the rest of the quest.

Now that you have won, you have to discuss your prize with Bakir. Similar to before you can choose to fight Bakir immediately by choosing to take off the mask when asked with “I’ll do as you wish, my lord.” but this results in you fighting Bakir along with all of his henchmen.

If you want to avoid fighting all of the henchmen and get Bakir alone in the treasure room, you can choose the following dialogue options (choosing any of the white dialogue in between is fine, just these specific yellow options):

  • I’m sorry, but I’m not taking the mask off.
  • With pleasure.
  • Cheers!
  • To friendship and good fortune!
  • My wish is to die fighting, not quietly in my bed.
  • Is that all? Can I get my reward now?
  • I thought you might want to eat them later. (If you let any of the other contestants alive)

This will get you inside the treasure room with Bakir. At this point you can actually talk your way out of fighting him, with the potential of getting an item out of the room, but you can also just kill him as is intended and loot the room on your own, so you don’t gain anything particularly unique by doing this.

Defeat Bakir

If you didn’t get Bakir alone in the treasure room you’ll have to fight all of his henchmen first, though they are just a group of normal soldier enemies along with a witch miniboss, so nothing out of the ordinary. Bakir himself fights with his fists along with unblockable ranged attacks.

The ranged attacks consist of a series of lines of blood that extend from him toward you that can be avoided by dodging to the side, which he will repeat a few times. The other attack he will summon a group of birds that will fly toward you from him, which you should stay back and dodge in the same way until all of them have been fired at you. He does not do any new attacks as the fight progresses, only cycling between the types of ranged attacks and trying to punch you.

After defeating Bakir, you can choose to kill him outright or drain him, with draining his blood unlocking the Shadowstorm Vampiric Ability. You can also loot his body to obtain Legendary Medium Chestplate: Bakir’s Armour, though note if you fought him in the courtyard then Farkas will walk you into the treasure room immediately, so you have to leave again to loot his items.

This finishes The Lunar Game in The Blood of Dawnwalker.
