Starting Location: The Heart Wants What It Wants
This quest can be started either by being prompted by the uriash Elder in the quest A Mother’s Plea, or by finding Ocha on your own in Svartrau at the tavern on the west side of the city.
Acquire Andrei’s memento
Ocha wants your help dealing with Andrei who is effectively holding her and her friend hostage and making them work for him. She wants you to obtain a memento of his to use in a spell.
(Optional) Ask around to learn more about Andrei
This objective is optional and can only be done during the day. There are some characters you can ask for information about Andrei, but if you are currently at night then there isn’t anything really gained from waiting to do this, you can go straight to getting into the hideout.
Find a way into Andrei’s hideout
Andrei’s hideout is located on the north side of Svratrau City.
At night using Vampiric powers you can teleport up to a balcony on the south side of the building. Once inside you don’t want to go down the stairs to the lower floor, as Andrei and another enemy are standing there.
Inside you can use Focus Mode (L2/LT) to highlight the important items. The one you want to pick up to successfully complete the objective is Andrei’s Ring, which is inside a small chest on a desk.
Look for more of Andrei’s mementos
This step is optional because there are multiple items in Andrei’s hideout, with only one of them being the correct item. You can grab multiple if you want, but the correct one is the ring.
Return to Ocha
Once you have the correct memento, leave the building and Ocha will already be waiting outside. If you picked up multiple of the items make sure to pick “The ring. Must be important.” when responding to her.
Alternate Outcome (killing Andrei): If you go downstairs and kill Andrei and his men, Ocha will walk in automatically. Coen will proudly proclaim he took care of her problem, but Ocha won’t be happy you spilled blood. The next two objectives are then automatically skipped and it jumps straight to meeting her at the river outside Svartrau City. She will become a Swordmastery Teacher either way.
Find a way to distract the guard [if you didn’t kill Andrei]
Ocha wants to use the spell immediately, so you need to get over to the correct window. To distract the guard, you can interact with the gate beside the house to let the pigs out.
Draw the hex symbol by Andrei’s window [if you didn’t kill Andrei]
Once the guard leaves, you can interact with the window to cast the spell.
Meet with Ocha
Regardless of how you handled Andrei, you’ll now need to head to the specified spot outside the city to discuss with Ocha about what happened.
Ocha offers you to eat, which you can accept.
(Optional) Catch some crayfish
If you agree to eat and catch some crayfish, Ocha wants you to find some in the river. You can use Focus Mode (L2/LT) to highlight objects that you can search. Once you find three you will automatically speak to Ocha again.
Talk to Ocha
Your responses here determine whether Ocha goes home to her family, or stays in the city. Whichever you choose doesn’t have further significant impact on the story, but changes one of the ending scenes at the end of the epilogue.
If you want her to stay in the city, you can pick: “Do you miss home” > “New things can be exciting, sure.” > “Our neighbours helped a bit.”
If you want her to go back home, you can pick: “Do you miss home?” > “Meh. Nothing better than homemade food.” > “Other villagers just cared about themselves. ”
Regardless of how the quest ends, you will earn the trophy/achievement
The Outcast.
