Starting Location: Where Loyalty Lies
This quest is automatically started after completing the previous quest Shadows in the Woods.
Raise your notoriety to Notorious or higher
To progress this quest, you need to raise your Infamy level to 4 or above, which puts you in the Notorious range. You can raise your Infamy the quickest by completing Court Activities.
Head to Svartrau Plaza by daylight
Once your Infamy is at 4 or above, you can go to the plaza in the middle of Svartrau City during the day.
Follow Sara
After going to the plaza, Sara will automatically meet you. You can then follow her to the manumit hideout.
Find out what happened to the missing scouts
After the scenes, you will be inducted as a member of the manumits, and sent out to prove yourself. During these scenes you will also automatically receive the optional quest Old Friends, New Friends after speaking with Vladimir.
Seek out the house with the pink facade in Neustadt
To start investigating, you can head to the southwest corner of Svartrau City to look for the house with a pink exterior. You aren’t required to find this specific house to complete the quest, this just gets you in the general required area.
Follow the blood trail
In the alleyway to the west you can spot a blood stain on the ground beside a cart. Inspect it to highlight the rest of the blood trail and follow it using Focus Mode (L2/LT).
The blood trail leads out the west gate to the slums area (if you are at Infamy 9 already and the gates are closed you’ll need to exit the city from the southeast corner near the castle, or by climbing over the wall if it is night and you can use Vampiric Powers).
Outside the gate you can inspect the destroyed cart and then keep following the trail leading west, then north into the slums.
You will reach a house with a handprint to the right of the door, but the door is locked. Go to the left side where you can climb up and drop in through a hole in the roof.
Check if anyone survived
Inside the house you can inspect the two bodies, then go through the door to the courtyard. Interact with the man lying against the barrel in the corner.
Kill the soldiers
After speaking with the man a group of soldiers enter the courtyard. Defeat them to complete the quest.
