In Crimson Desert you can catch fish. There are 2 methods: by hand or with a fishing rod.
Fishing with Fishing Rod
Buy a Fishing Rod from the Provisioner’s Shop in Hernand.
Then equip it from the item wheel (hold D-Pad
). It replaces the bow slot in your inventory.
Find a big body of water where you can visibly see fish swimming around. If you don’t see fish below the surface there won’t be any to catch. Fish are usually in deeper water, such as ponds and lakes.
Here’s how the fishing controls work:
- To use the fishing rod hold L2/LT to aim it at the water until you see a blue circle, then let go of the button to cast the fishing line. Make sure it’s directly above where you see fish swimming.
- Wait until a fish bites, you will see the water splashing when this happens (big white splashes). Press R2/RT to hook the fish, you will see the button appear in the bottom right corner while NOT in Control Mode (not holding L2/LT).
- When the fish is hooked, control the Left Stick in the opposite direction of the fish’s movement to keep the line tight and tire it out.
- Once it’s tired out, quickly rotate the Right Stick clockwise to reel it in.
- The line will snap if you reel it in too hard.
Catching Fish by Hand
The easier option in most cases is to simply swim after the fish or wade in shallow water and pick them up like you would any other item.
