Crimson Desert Obsession and Madness Walkthrough

Obsession and Madness is the 58th main mission in Crimson Desert. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Obsession and Madness main quest.

• Starting Location: Hernand region > Scholastone Institute
• Chapter: 4 – The Price of Knowledge
• Sub-Chapter: Forbidden Knowledge
• Requirement: Finished previous main quest Spire of the Stars
• Reward: +8 Contribution Levels to Hernandian faction
• Quest Description: This place appears to be connected to the rift that swallowed Octavius. He may still be alive. Search the area for any sign of him.

Investigate the Abyss

This objective automatically completes when you enter the Abyss Rift on the top floor of the Spire of the Stars, at the end of the prior quest. Then you will arrive in the Abyss in the sky.

Find the one responsible for the rift

This objective will be marked in the sky.

First, stand on the fast travel point (floor plate) directly in front of where you entered the Abyss. In case you fall down you can press on the map to switch to the sky map and travel back there.

To navigate to the target, you must go up the tall pillars. The easiest method is to jump and use Force Palm ( ) 3 times in a row to catapult yourself up, then fly over to the pillar.

After landing on the first platform, you can do another 3 Force Palms in midair and fly to the big main platform.

There you find a yellow glowing mechanism on the floor. Jump over it and use Force Palm in midair to activate the mechanism. It will trigger a cutscene, after which the quest ends.

The secret to this quest is the hidden game mechanic that you can use Force Palm 3 times in a row. The game never explains this to you, and until now there was no reason to make use of it. It’s super useful for climbing and navigating the world. Note that Force Palm consumes Spirit, but can be recharged by holding + .

Alternatively, you could also climb the pillars if you have put enough points into Stamina. You can also use the Double Jump skill (green skill tree with Kliff) to boost even further up!
