There are 5 Trade Challenges in Crimson Desert. They are part of the Life Category. Finishing all Trade Challenges unlocks The Golden Merchant trophy & achievement.
Challenges Overview:
Challenge 1: Traveler with Oak Barrels
- How to Unlock: Pick up the Sealed Abyss Artifact in Pailune City, at a road crossing in the middle of the town. Before liberating the town, there will be many enemies there but you can already sneak in and grab it (Pailune is liberated in Chapter 7 of the story, but can already find the Sealed Abyss Artifact before then).

- Challenge: Meet the tavern owners from all the regions (x8)
- How to Complete: Talk to the tavern owner in every major town across all regions. The towns are visible on the map after unfogging it. Inn owners get marked as “?” icons in the Environment tab of the map. Refer to Tavern Owner Locations.
- Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Solidarity III
Challenge 2: Rainbow Mane
- How to Unlock: Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifact in Varnia (north Crimson Desert), on the side of the road south from Alabastar Bridge.

- Challenge: Learn Theoric, Monty, Pororin, Castiel, Laurick, Alton, and Cromac’s dyeing techniques.
- How to Complete: Simply visit all Dyehouses and talk to their shopkeeper, this also counts retroactively if you’ve visited them before. You don’t need to buy their dyes. See All Dyehouse Locations.
- Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Faded Abyss Artifact, 1x Solidarity II
Challenge 3: Mysterious Accessory Shop
- How to Unlock: Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifact in Demeniss, at the intersection directly south of Demeniss Castle.

- Challenge: Visit all Witches’ workshops (4).
- How to Complete: See All Witch Locations.
- Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Faded Abyss Artifact, 1x Life Transference
Challenge 4: Contract of the Golden Crown
- How to Unlock: Pick up the Sealed Abyss Artifact in Crimson Desert, at the road intersection northeast of Crimson Wall Shrine.

- Challenge: Deliver trade goods to the Hernandian / Demenissian / Varnian / Delesyian royal courts.
- How to Complete: This challenge requires you to make at least 1 delivery to each of the 4 royal courts located throughout the game. You are first introduced to the ability to deliver to royal courts in the Greymane > Scattered Embers quest group Favorable Deal, where Yann will take you to buy honey and then deliver it to Hernand Castle.

When completing the requirement for this challenge the easiest thing to do is to purchase the required goods to your horse, then fast travel near the royal court, then call your horse. This will cause your horse to lose around half of the item stack, but is far faster than riding your horse between the locations, especially to Varnia if you need items from a far away location. Goods can be placed in your horse inventory by going to any Trading Center (gold scales on blue background) and purchasing trade goods into your horse inventory, or through the Stable menu instead of the Wagonmaster like is required for the wagon.

You can then ride your horse to the Royal Trading Center, and you will automatically sell the stack of items in your horse inventory. You can check what item each location is currently buying by viewing Details
of the castle in each location, and checking the Royal Trading tab, then checking Trading Post locations to see what items are being sold. Each Royal Court buys a limited amount (150 ~ 200 total) of an item per week, with the item changing at the end of every in-game week. If it is late Sunday night in-game then you should probably wait for the date to roll over before you work on any Royal Trading.

The Hernandian Royal Trading Post is at Hernand Castle on the north side of the city of Hernand. Details are viewed from Hernand castle, items are delivered on the west side. You unlock trading to Hernand through previously mentioned Greymane Faction Quest Favorable Deal.

The Demenissian Royal Trading Post is located at the City of Demeniss. Details are viewed from Demeniss Castle, items are delivered to the north of the city. You unlock trading to Demeniss after Chapter 8 of the story when the region is liberated through story events.

The Varnian Royal Trading Post is located in the City of Varnia at the very northeast corner of the map. Details are viewed on the central “Varnia” building, items are delivered at the Trading Post location to the northeast. You unlock trading to Varnia by gaining knowledge about the city itself. You may need to walk around the city and into the central building, or walk around the trading post. You can tell that trading is available if you can view the item currently being bought in the Details menu for Varnia.

The Delesyian Royal Trading Post is located at the City of Delesyia. Details are viewed at Delesyia Castle, items are delivered near the port on the east side of the city. You unlock trading to Delesyia after Chapter 11 of the story when the region is liberated through story events.

- Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Service II
Challenge 5: Magnate of the Golden Desert
- How to Unlock: Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifact in Delesyia, on the side of the road immediately east of Western Outpost, west of Marni’s Steel Armory.

- Challenge: Earn over 300,000 Camp Funds through trading.
- How to Complete: This challenge requires you to earn a cumulative total of 300,000 Camp Funds through the trading functions. This counts sales both between normal Trading Posts and selling to Royal Trading posts, so you can sell items to whichever location you think will make you the most money or is most convenient, though note that Trading Posts have a minimum sell limit of 25, so you can’t take single items you package at camp to a Trading Post. The earned total counts cumulatively the entire amount you sell for, not based on profit. It can be faster to just fast travel and call your horse between locations, even if you are losing a chunk of the items through teleporting the horse.
If you do feel like driving the wagon around larger distances you can pick up large amounts of goods at once with it, just be aware that the only way to teleport it is to pull it back to camp, which if you finished the story and completed the camp move means it is going back to Pailune. Otherwise you can leave the wagon somewhere and it will stay there if you want to move it to the middle of the map and just drive between Trading Posts. If you do feel like driving from camp and have a large amount of excess provisions (weapons, wood, stone, food), you can package these through the Wagonmaster vendor, then take them to sell at the specific provision-related Trading Posts located around the fields in Demeniss starting in Chapter 9. These locations specifically buy and sell Timber, Stone, Wood, and Arms, so if you have a lot of extra resources and feel like making the drive you can make a large amount of camp funds this way. Provisions at camp are packaged at a rate of 1000 > 1, with the provision Trading Posts also having a minimum 25 sell limit.

- Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Efficiency II

Regarding #4 Trade
The problem that I am seeing and I swear there is nothing on the internet as of now is how do we trade with Varnia Royan Trade Post.
For the other 3 cities, you can hover on the main castle and it will show you exactly what the Royal Trade post accepts. For Varnia, since its like a priest townnor whatever; no info displayed. I looked at all the POI in Crimson Desert, maybe something pops the thing but no. So I personally do not know how to find out what they want for trade, hence I believe its being gatekept by some missions

Alright. Follow up. Royal Varia is unlocked after you beat one of the hyenna bosses from the faction sidequests

Do you remember which Hyena it was? I defeated Skevald, The Carrion King and nothing happened.

In challenge 4, I’m having trouble delivering to the royal trading post in Demeniss. The NPC just stands there without reacting. I’m bringing the correct materials, properly packaged in the cart. Does anyone know anything about this?

How do you guys put trading stuffs on your horse ? I do not see any slot unlocked.
ProfJ says
You can go to a stable and chose the option to load trade goods to the horse

I’m having troubles with Trading challenge #4, which is the last one before Platinum trophy. None of the traders are refreshing their stock, been weeks ingame and many hours rl, getting kinda annoyed tbh. Sure, load, save, reload, quit etc… nope, doesn’t work. Also got 100 trust with all the vendors so there’s a countdown on them when they shall restock but not happening at all. The only option i guess is to wait and wait till Barnia Royal Trading house asks for something i have in stock already or is avalable from some trader, other 3 royal deliveries are done.

For some reason the horse inventory is bugged and none of the slots are available to store goods in, they are locked no matter how many times I refresh the game or reload it, same issue, have reported this to pearl abyss in hopes of them fixing this bug
