Challenge 3: Hunter’s Discipline
- How to Unlock: Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifact in Crimson Desert, at intersection west of Crimson Mountains Ironcrawler Station.

- Challenge: Defeat 3 hyenas without moving more than 20 meters.
- How to Complete: Hyenas are hostile animals, similar to wolves but found in specific areas in the Crimson Desert region. If you picked this artifact up early, then you can very easily complete this requirement while fighting the boss Skevald, the Carrion King who is located at the Hyena Den east of Tommaso. There are a lot of hyenas with the boss, so defeating 3 without moving 20 meters is relatively easy.

If you defeat the boss before picking up the artifact, you’ll need to find another group of hyenas. You can typically find a group of 2-4 in the area northeast of Crimson Mountain Fortress around the roads. If there are only 2, teleport to a different region and then come back to try for a different spawn.

- Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Composure II
Challenge 4: Mystical Ecosystem
- How to Unlock: Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifact in Pailune, at the intersection immediately west of Pailune Floodgate in a small wooden shrine.

- Challenge: Capture 3 Choppies.
- How to Complete: Choppies are a unique type of rabbit creature that can be found around Abyss areas. One of the first locations you will likely be able to find them is at the first Abyss location Axiom Archive when you go there early in the game. Pick up three different Choppies to complete this challenge.

- Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Fortune
Challenge 5: A Will Harder than Rock
- How to Unlock: Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifact in Demeniss, on the side of the road west of Burnhand Quarry.

- Challenge: Defeat 10 stoneback crabs.
- How to Complete: Stoneback Crabs are a type of Abyss creature that can be found throughout the game, typically near Abyss related structures or sometimes around Bismuth Ore deposits. They appear as a crab looking body with various items on their back depending on where they are found. One of the earliest locations you can encounter them is at the Bismuth deposits on the cliffs near Equinsher Saddlery in Hernand, where they will have Bismuth Crystals on their backs. These ones also will respawn over time if you need a set location where a few spawn.

- Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Greater Abyssbane
Challenge 6: Small Predator
- How to Unlock: Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifact in Demeniss, at intersection northeast of Southern Court.

- Challenge: Catch and carry 5 animals from the weasel family.
- How to Complete: This challenge only requires you to pick up and drop any 5 individual animals from the weasel family. You can’t just pick and drop the same one over and over, but it can be the same type of animal. Currently confirmed to count are Weasels and Raccoons.
- Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Blessing of the Beast II
Challenge 7: Apex of the Food Chain
- How to Unlock: Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifact in Crimson Desert, on the side of the road directly east of Cloister of Enlightenment.

- Challenge: Subdue 3 herbivorous, predators, and omnivorous animals.
- How to Complete: This challenge is for killing 3 of each type of animal, regardless of which they are or if they are duplicates. Herbivores are animals like deer which can be found throughout most of the game world. Predators can be animals like wolves which are also very commonly found. Omnivores can be small animals like foxes or mice, or larger ones like Bears.
- Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Beastbane
Challenge 8: Song of the Moon-Swallowing Sword
- How to Unlock: Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifact in Crimson Desert, on the side of the road west from Sanctum of Renunciation.

- Challenge: Cling to a wolf and stab it 6 times in a row.
- How to Complete: To hang onto a wolf, you first need to upgrade the Grappling skill to the 4th level, which unlocks the Back Hang ability. This allows you to hang onto the back of larger enemies. Then find any wolf, use Back Hang right beside it to grab on, then mash
to stab the wolf with your equipped dagger. Depending on your upgrades you may kill the wolf before being able to stab it 6 times. If needed you can remove your armor to reduce your attack bonus, or if you have a very highly upgraded dagger switch to a lower level one. You can buy an unupgraded dagger at most armor shops. - Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Rend II
Challenge 9: Pine Broom
- How to Unlock: Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifact in Demeniss, on the side of the road directly south of Thornbriar Guard Post.

- Challenge: Subdue the bear using only a broom.
- How to Complete: This challenge requires killing a bear only using a broom to attack it. If you need a broom, you can purchase them from Provisioner’s Shops, and then upgrade the broom at the smith so that it deals more damage. When you are fighting the bear, make sure to remove any armor that has Abyss Gears that trigger off dodges which could damage the bear, as this will void the requirement. When you stun the bear and are able to climb on, you also need to avoid doing this, as it seems to also void the requirement.
You can typically find a bear in Hernand, west of Sanctum of Penitence.

- Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Faded Abyss Artifact, 1x Beastbane II
Challenge 10: The End of Myth
- How to Unlock: Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifact along road northeast of Saltroad Hearth.

- How to Complete: This challenge requires hunting 4 of the Legendary Animals which have their own challenges in the Exploration > Legendary Animals category. Silver Fang, White Bear, White-Scaled Crocodile, and White Bison. If you hunt any of them before picking up the artifact they are counted retroactively, as you can only hunt each animal once.
- Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact, Greater Beastbane

Cant find any hyena after the legend hyena dead
Nebzz says
I can’t find any hyenas either. Report it to Pearl Abyss; the more of us who do it, the faster they’ll fix it.

For Challenge 5, the best place I’ve found for Stoneback crabs is The Sage’s Peak. The Abyss Nexus just to the north northwest of Root’s End Ruins is right next to it. The Sage’s Peak is also where you end up at the end of an Abyss run. If you travel to the nexus, look to the south. There’s a rounded area up a hill you can run up to. There are Stoneback crabs all over this area. More than enough for the challenge. They’re halfway buried in the ground and look like rounded oval shaped boulders or stones of various sizes. If you strike them with a weapon they’ll emerge from the ground and fight you. There are mid size and large Stoneback crabs that have grass and flowers growing from their backs too. All of these drop a mixture of iron ore, abyssal cells, and shineberries. With as many as there are (I’d say around 15 or 20), this could be a great farming spot as well.
