The Long Drop is a Treasure Hunt in Far Cry 6. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Long Drop treasure hunt quest.
Region: El Este
Sub-Region: La Joya
Requirement: Locate the Treasure Hunt starting point in the open world and read the note at its location
Reward: 150 Guerrilla XP, Excavation Execution (Shotgun)
Mission Info: Regime soldiers have forced dam workers to store their military supplies onsite. How convenient for a guerrilla.
Objectives:
- Reach the stash
Starting Location: The Long Drop
The Long Drop is a Treasure Hunt available at Santos Espinosa Dam in La Joya, El Este. It can be started by reading the note.
Reach the stash
To be able to access the stash, you will first need to find the key to the dam shed. Head up the ladder next to you and cross to the other side of the dam. Head around the back of the building here and look through the windows, you’ll be able to see a lock you can shoot. Shoot it. Climb onto the roof and cross to the door you opened.
Inside you will need to access the dam control panel, and to do that you will need to interact with a few things in the correct order.
First, activate the sluice control by the calendar at the back of the room.
Second, press the button on the side of the hydraulic monitoring machines.
Third, turn the pressure valve at the side of the room.
Lastly, Press the button on the main console.
Once you have done this, the dam will open and you will be able to grab the key. Head outside and use the grappling point at the dam bridge, then rappel down to the worker’s body that’s stuck on the dam. Grab his key and grapple back up.
With the key, return to the dam shed where the treasure hunt started to access the stash.
This finishes The Long Drop Treasure Hunt in Far Cry 6.

I shot the lock but the door won’t open? Did I miss something?

JC in S.D. says
I never shut off the water, just rappelled down and grabbed the key when I floated past the guy.
Lucas says
I unintencionally managed to reach the final room without the key. I went gliding to the treasure hunt to fast and entered the final room before the window loaded. Completed the treasure hunt in less than 5 seconds 🙂
Joel says
I followed instructions per operation note in command room. Went and unlocked loot door and got the loot. The treasure icon is still displayed, I’m still in the “search area” and it’s acting like I did not complete the quest

With this objective and others, particularly Road Checkpoints, when I approach the base and get to about 100 metres away, I get the message “Objective Completed” and some other information. It isn’t completed though, as I haven’t got there yet.
When capturing other FND bases, if I kill all guards I lose the opportunity to complete the entire mission (you know, download data, free prisoner and stuff). I have to leave at least one guard still alive then complete the mission before killing the last guard and triggering the ‘Task Complete’ screen.
Joel: Sometimes one has to ‘Quit to Main Menu’ then go back to ‘Continue Game’ to fix odd problems as you describe.
