Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 A Sinful Soul Walkthrough

A Sinful Soul is a side task in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the A Sinful Soul task.

• Starting Location: Trosky Region > Apollonia > Hermit’s Hut
• Quest Giver: Hermit
• Requirement: HIGHLY MISSABLE – During Side Quest: The Hermit, you must have exhausted all dialogues with Innkeeper Betty and then complete all optional objectives. Then you can tell the Hermit “I learned some strange things about you…” and exhaust all dialogues so he gives you this task.
• Reward: 45 Groschen (if you help the widow bury Jan’s bones)
• Quest Type: Task
• Questline: The Blacksmith’s Son > The Jaunt > (Canker > Handsome Charlie > Johnny the Gob > Casper) > The Hermit > A Sinful Soul
• Quest Description: After investigating all optional clues about the hermit, he asks you to bring a cross to an old widow in exchange for his sword.

Objectives:

1. Give the woman the cross
2. Talk to the widow in the graveyard
3. Dig a grave
4. Get the remains from the dead man’s grave
5. Put the remains in the grave
6. Talk to the widow

Starting Location: A Sinful Soul

HIGHLY MISSABLE – follow the walkthrough for Side Quest: The Hermit to trigger this task. It’s only available during The Hermit side quest. You must exhaust all dialogues with Innkeeper Betty, she gives you optional objectives to talk to all witnesses and investigate the cross. Do all optional objectives, then you can investigate the black horse in Apollonia. Afterward you can talk to the Hermit and confront him with all clues you gathered. Only then he gives A Sinful Soul task. If the hermit is hostile, you must skip time until he sits down at the table in his hut, then you can talk to him:

Give the woman the cross

Talk to Widow Margaret in Troskowitz. Her location varies by time of day but she’ll be marked after accepting the quest. In the evening she’s usually in the house opposite the entrance to the tailor.

Tell her “I bring you absolution (Hand over the cross)” > “I’ll help you” > “Let’s go to the graveyard”. This will initiate fast travel.

Talk to the widow in the graveyard

After the fast travel tell the widow “What does the graveyard have to do with absolution?” > “It’s the living I’m afraid of” > “Why doesn’t he have a grave?” > “The conciliatory cross is to commemorate Jan?” > “We’ll bury him”.

Dig a grave

Dig up the grave in the northeast corner of the graveyard. It will show the prompt “Rob the grave”. You need a Spade for this (can be bought from trader in Troskowitz).

Get the remains from the dead man’s grave

Exit the graveyard. Check behind the graveyard for a bush of red flowers. Pluck the flowers, then dig up the grave underneath. Loot the grave for “Old Bones“.

Put the remains in the grave

Bring the bones over to the widow where you dug up the grave. Look at the grave to get the prompt “Bury Jan’s remains”. Doing this finishes the burial.

Talk to the widow

Talk to the widow afterward, she stands next to the grave. Say “I buried Jan’s bones” > “You did the right thing” > “All right, I gladly accept”.

She gives you 45 Groschen and the task is completed.

This finishes A Sinful Soul side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

Afterward continue with Side Quest: The Hermit, Objective: Return to the Hermit.
