Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Like Old Times Walkthrough

February 12, 2025 by PowerPyx 4 Comments

Like Old Times is a side task in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Like Old Times side task.

  • Starting Location: Kuttenberg Region > Devil’s Den
  • Quest Giver: Sir Hans Capon
  • Requirement: Started Main Quest 22: The Lion’s Den
  • Reward: None
  • Quest Type: Task
  • Quest Description: Lord Capon wants to go hunting.
  • Missable Warning: This task is only available during Main Quest 22: The Lion’s Den.

Objectives:

  1. Go to the camp with Capon
  2. Talk to Capon
    1. Don’t raise the alarm (if choosing stealth approach)
    2. Kill all the soldiers (if choosing attack/stealth approach, or failing skill checks with talk approach)
  3. Talk to Capon

Starting Location: Like Old Times

This task can be started at the start of Main Quest 22: The Lion’s Den by talking to Sir Hans Capon at Devil’s Den.

Pick the following dialogues: “Thank you, it was rough” > “It reminded me of Skalitz” > “No need to thank me” (you receive Hunting Bow) > “Duty calls” > “A just reward!” > “That’s a good idea” > Let’s go!” –> this starts the task.

Missable Warning: This is highly missable. It’s only available during Main Quest 22: The Lion’s Den.

Go to the camp with Capon

Sir Hans will mount his horse. Follow him, it’s a long 5-minute ride. You will end up in the woods west of Opatowitz.

After dismounting the horses you will walk with Hans into the woods.

Talk to Capon

After arriving in the woods, talk to Sir Hans. There are some soldiers from Sigismund’s camp in the woods and they killed a hunter. Hans wants you to kill the soldiers.

In the dialogue you can pick your preferred approach to talk, attack, or stealth-kill them. Refusing to engage will fail the task.

  • Let’s talk to them: It automatically skips to you talking to the soldiers. If you win the skill checks you can tell them to get lost, they will run away scared, thus skipping the fight.
  • Let’s get at them!: You rush in with Sir Hans and the 5 enemies are immediately alerted. This triggers objective “Kill all the soldiers”, must defeat them all.
  • I’ll do it on my own. Nice and quiet: This triggers the stealth objectives “Don’t raise the alarm” + “Kill all the soldiers”. If you raise the alarm it’ll fail only that objective but you can still proceed to fight them. Sir Hans comes to help if you’re spotted.
  • I don’t want to get involved: If you follow up with I’m not going to fight it will FAIL the task.

Talk to Capon

After disposing of the soldiers peacefully or violently, talk to Capon. All dialogues will result in a choice to fast travel back to Devil’s Den or to go your own way. Either option will immediately complete the task, but there’s no reward regardless of how you solved it.

This finishes Like Old Times side task in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

there could be and unfortunately thing failing the objective about talking to capon at fist because of the soldiers wandering around the camp and spotting you even if you hide they will spot hans and you will be in insta fight with them

Agreed just happened to me no matter how many times i reloaded the save. Luckily the outcome is the same minus losing a bit of dialogue and the choice of how to deal with them.

At the start after saying “A just reward!”, Capon just answer “but duty first” and the quest doesn’t start?

After The Lion’s Den quest start, you need to wait 24h, attend the meeting, and THEN you can go with Capon.
