Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Kuttenberg Tournament Walkthrough

February 12, 2025 by Gage 1 Comment

Kuttenberg Tournament is a side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Kuttenberg Tournament side mission.

  • Starting Location: Kuttenberg Region > Kuttenberg City > Swordfighting Guild
  • Quest Giver: Menhard van Frankfurt
  • Requirement: Complete side quest Ars Dimicatoria
  • Reward: 200 x Groschen, random weapon (per discipline win)
  • Quest Type: Side Quest
  • Questline: Ars Dimicatoria > (Kuttenberg Tournament > Mark of the Brotherhood > Last Will)
  • Quest Description: The Kuttenberg swordsman’s brotherhood decided to hold a tournament, which the town council approved as a tournament is sure to contribute to the town’s greater glory. For me, it’s a great opportunity to improve my swordsmanship and perhaps win a valuable prize and a bit of fame.

Objectives:

  1. Go to the tournament
  2. Borrow tournament gear
  3. Go to the red corner and wait for the duel to start
  4. Fight!
  5. Collect your prize for winning the longsword/sword and shield/free combat discipline (Optional)

Starting Location: Kuttenberg Tournament

NOTE: This is a repeatable side quest, and you can speak with Menhard again after completion to register for another tournament.

To start this side quest, speak with Menhard at the swordfighting guild after you have completed Ars Dimicatoria and ask to participate in the Kuttenberg Tournament.

You can participate in just one fighting discipline, or all three for 100 Groschen per discipline. The tournament happens on a specific day each in-game week, and you can pay around 100~ Groschen to wait at the guild until the tournament starts, which would be recommended so that you don’t miss it by accident.

Go to the tournament

After the tournament day arrives, head to the tournament grounds located in the southwest corner of the city, the same location as where you fought during Ars Dimicatoria.

Borrow tournament gear

If you are participating in longsword or sword and shield disciplines, you will automatically receive gear to use in these, you don’t use your gear.

Go to the red/yellow corner and wait for the duel to start

You’ll need to go stand in your corner to wait for the fight to start. Like in Ars Dimicatoria you can use this opportunity to save or use potions before the fight starts.

Fight!

You will then fight your opponent, these are different depending on discipline, but the rules are the same as during Ars Dimicatoria. Each opponent is best of three, and if you beat two opponents in a row you win the discipline.

You can skip time by an hour in between if you don’t want to watch the other group duel.

Collect your prize for winning the longsword/sword and shield/free combat discipline (Optional)

After winning in a discipline, you can go to the three chests on the side and take your prize for winning that discipline. Each win awards 200 Groschen plus a weapon.

If you have signed up for all disciplines you will continue fighting until all are finished. You will need to speak with the armorer in between the sword and shield and greatsword duels to receive the other version of the tournament gear. You will also need to return them before the open combat duels or you will owe 500 Groschen (or you can just pay that to keep the items if you like them).

Once you have completed all your duels, win or lose, you will complete the quest.

This finishes Kuttenberg Tournament side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

This quest is so broken for me, opponents not changing weapons, opponents fighting without weapons, not starting the second duel because they’re still waiting for their longsword…
