Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 The Last Step Walkthrough

The Last Step is the 7th DLC quest in the Legacy of the Forge expansion of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Last Step

• Starting Location: Kuttenberg Region > Kuttenberg City

• Requirement: Own Legacy of the Forge DLC and complete Old Plans
• Reward: Forge Prestige, Groschen (if you passed the skill check earlier to convince the bailiff to pay you),  Martin’s Legacy (completing DLC storyline)

• Quest Description: I’m trying to finish repairing the astronomical clock with the help of two unexpected collaborators.

Objectives:

1. Consult Fly about the repair of the clock
2. Ask Mole about Volf (Optional)
3. Ask the Ragman about Volf (Optional)
4. Find Volf
5. Get a Hair o’ the Dog potion for Volf
6. Give Volf the Hair o’ the Dog to drink
7. Escort Volf to the bathhouse/Don’t let Volf run away
8. Get Volf some decent clothes
9. Wait for Frabrizio and Volf to complete the missing components
10. Talk to Volf and Frabrizio about the components construction
11. Forge a new crankshaft
12. Show the repaired crankshaft to Volf and Frabrizio
13. Arrange the clock repair with the bailiff

Starting Location: The Last Step

This quest starts automatically after the DLC quest Old Plans.

Consult Fly about the repair of the clock

At the forge, speak with Standa to learn more about the clock repairs. He’ll point you to a man named Volf.

Ask Mole about Volf (Optional)

You initially won’t have a location to find Volf, so you can go talk to Mole first for some clues. If you want you can skip both these optional steps and go right to his location below. Mole will tell you about the two beggar areas that you can search, as well as suggesting you ask Ragman.

Ask the Ragman about Volf (Optional)

Go speak to Ragman and he’ll tell you of the specific beggar camp where Volf can be found.

Find Volf

Volf is located at the beggar camp on the east side of Kuttenberg. Volf is the “Stinking Beggar” with ginger hair that can be found wandering around the area.

Get a Hair o’ the Dog potion for Volf

Volf is too drunk to talk to you, so you need to give him a Hair o’ the Dog potion to sober him up. If you don’t have one currently, you can purchase one from the apothecary on the western side of the city.

Give Volf the Hair o’ the Dog to drink

Once you have a Hair o’ the Dog, return to Volf and give it to him to sober him up. Pick whichever dialogue options you want and you’ll convince him to work with you.

Escort Volf to the bathhouse/Don’t let Volf run away

You’ll automatically move over to the bathhouse, where Volf will start running away. Run back up to him and talk to him to stop him.

Get Volf some decent clothes

You’ll need to give Volf some new clothes to make him look decent. If you don’t have extra clothes on you, go to the nearest tailor to purchase some. Make sure to buy him a Head (any hat), Body (any coat), Legs (and pants), and Shoes for all the required items. The tailor might not have shoes, so you may need to go to a different shop to buy some.

Once you have all items, go back to the bathhouse and speak to Volf, giving him all the required items, then you can go immediately to see Frabrizio. There will then be a scene where you take Volf to see Frabrizio, where you can answer how you want (but keep him off the alcohol).

Wait for Frabrizio and Volf to complete the missing components

You’ll need to wait two in-game days for the two to finish up work on the clock. You can complete other guild activities while you wait.

Talk to Volf and Frabrizio about the components construction

After two in-game days you will have a new objective at the forge to speak with Volf or Frabrizio. Once you speak with them they’ll tell you that you need to make a new crankshaft for the clock.

Forge a new crankshaft

You’ll automatically receive the recipe for the crankshaft, which requires 1 x Frankfurt steel and 1 x Toledo steel, along with the Broken escapement you’ll have received automatically. If you need materials they can be purchased from the various armourers or weaponsmiths around Kuttenberg.

Show the repaired crankshaft to Volf and Frabrizio

Once you have forged the crankshaft, speak with Volf or Frabrizio again to show it to them.

Arrange the clock repair with the bailiff

You’ll then need to go speak with the bailiff again to inform him about the start of the repairs, he should still be present in the Kuttenberg town hall during the day.

After the scene, you will be awarded  Martin’s Legacy, completing the quest and the storyline for this DLC.
