Starting Location: Silent Witnesses
Automatically starts when the DLC quest Anamnesis ends.
Talk to the workers outside the church (Optional)
Head to the stables north of the church. Talk to any of the laborers: “I’d like to ask…”. This marks another laborer called Loyza, he usually stands in the north-east corner of the search area. Make a save before talking to him in case you need to retry his skillchecks.
Loyza will be in the same camp, tell him: “I’m investigating the illness….”. Then you get two skillchecks. Dread Skillcheck “Spit out everything you know” is easier to succeed (confirmed at 16 Dread). Coercion Skillcheck “I’m coming down with something” is confirmed to succeed at 24 Coercion. Pick whichever one you can succeed, then exhaust all questions. He reveals there are two crews, his crew takes care of everything above ground, the other is taking care of the crypt. He tells you their tents are across the road.
Note: if you previously looted the chest under the white tent south across the street for the item “Golden Crucifix”, you get an extra dialogue “What’s this cross about?”, then can show him this stolen artifact. This reveals to you that the crypt laborers have been stealing artifacts. It’s the same chest where you found the Leather for Prevention.
Get booze for Loyza [if you picked non-skillcheck dialogue]
If you told Loyza “Scratch my back…” or failed the skillchecks, you get this objective to bring him 2 bottles of Schnapps. If you already have enough alcohol you can give it to him right away. If not, you can find 2 Schnapps in your room in the infirmary, on the shelf. Then he gives you the same info as passing his skillcheck.
Search the workers’ belongings (Optional)
If you haven’t searched the white tent across the street before, you will get this objective. Just go across the street and loot the Golden crucifix from the chest. If you already looted the chest under the white tent to get leather for the plague mask, the objective is automatically skipped.
Search the crypt
Important: Before entering the crypt, be sure to complete the task Prevention to craft the Plague Hood. Equip it from your inventory. If you’re not wearing the Plague Hood, you will get infected with the illness upon entering the crypt. It won’t kill you but you get a permanent debuff to all of your stats.
The crypt is inside the church. Easiest way to enter the church is by climbing the scaffold at the northern church entrance, next to the locked gate where a worker is standing. You can also take the south entrance from within the monastery.
You must drop down the hole in the church floor. There is a worker standing next to it but you can distract him by tossing a stone in the other direction (R1/RB/G).
Once you’re down there, go through the wooden door to the crypt. It’s very dark so equip a torch. Look at the altar and the “Investigate” prompt will appear in the bottom right corner, it reveals the workers robbed the graves. On the altar pick up the Filthy parchment. Read it from your inventory under Books > Maps.
Look into the tomb right of the altar. You learn the workers got in contact with the rotting corpses when opening the graves. The workers will shut the crypt door behind you with a very hard lock.
Escape the crypt!
To escape the crypt, look left of the altar at the wall with loose stones. The prompt “Take wall apart” will come up. This makes a hole you can climb through.
It reveals a secret section of the crypt. Reach the end, climb over the last sarcophagus through another hole in a wall.
Sneak behind the 3 workers at the door and climb up the ladder. They won’t notice you. The guy who was upstairs will be gone. If you trigger combat you get the objective “Defend yourself” and must defeat them, but this is not recommended.
Defend yourself [If you triggered combat]
If you are noticed by the 3 workers at the door, you must defeat them in combat. You can knock them out or kill them. It’s best to sneak past them in stealth.
Return to Albich
Go back to Albich, he’ll be in the small bedroom in the south of the infirmary. Exhaust his dialogues. His room has been robbed but he doesn’t know by whom. He suspects someone was looking for his records on Wenceslas’s health.
Take a look around the looted room
Inspect the scattered things on the floor and the lock on the door. You learn that whoever broke in had the key.
Note: if you exposed yourself to the illness in the crypt without wearing the Plague Hood, you can talk to Albich and he gives you 3x Weak St. Roch’s potion, which you are supposed to take whenever symptoms appear. He also tells you the recipe for this potion.
Talk to Denes
Denes will be in the infirmary, he usually sits around, will be marked on the map. Exhaust his dialogue, he won’t be of much help however.
Talk to Benedict
Novice Benedict is also in the infirmary, will be marked on the map. He’s the monk in black/white robes tending to the sick. Exhaust his dialogues.
Talk to Albich
Talk to Albich in the looted room once again. There are no dialogue choices here, you will automatically report to him what you learned. Then you get a cutscene where a barn burns down during the night and a guard pulls two dead bodies out of the fire. Investigating this incident will be our next quest.
The next morning, Zacharias and Benedict wake you up. Exhaust all questions in any order you like. When you get a skillcheck with Albich, the first one “I’ll try to get rid of him by force” will lose reputation and the other two gain reputation (all confirmed to succeed at 24 Strength / 24 Speech / 24 Scholarship). Regardless of what you pick, the story will advance the same.
You now get two new quests. Recommended order: Seek and you Shall Find > To Dust you Shan’t Return.
This finishes Silent Witnesses quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC.
Next up: Seek and you Shall Find
For all other Quests refer to Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Walkthrough.

Take a look around the looted room. Objective marker goes away when you inspect the lock on the door to the room…
