Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 The Heirloom Walkthrough

February 12, 2025 by Gage 7 Comments

The Heirloom is a side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Heirloom side mission.

  • Starting Location: Kuttenberg Region > Tailor Mikush (west of Bylany)
  • Quest Giver: Svatava Mikush
  • Requirement: Complete Main Quest 14: Speak of the Devil
  • Reward: 60 x Groschen, Survival XP, Strength XP (if you turn in the whole inheritance at the end of the quest)
  • Quest Type: Side Quest
  • Quest Description: In a forest near Bylany, there’s a family of refugees who escaped the destruction of Mesoles living in an abandoned hut. The head of the household, a tailor named Mikush, never returned from Bylany where he works. Henry sets out to find him.

Objectives:

  1. Find out what happened to Mikush
  2. Ask about Mikush in the tavern in Bylany
  3. Investigate Drat
  4. Go to the crossroads near the forest
  5. Follow the tracks
  6. Save Mikush
  7. Save Svatava and Vendula
  8. Talk to Svatava in the hut
  9. Go to the door
  10. Talk to Svatava
  11. Find the treasure in Mesoles
  12. Return to Svatava with the family inheritance

Starting Location: The Heirloom

To start this side quest, you need to go to the POI Huntsman’s lodge/Tailor Mikush which is located at the edge of the woods west of Bylany. During the day you should encounter two people speaking with each other outside of the house. Speak with Svatava Mikush and agree to help.

Find out what happened to Mikush

Svatava wants you help finding out what happened to her husband and suggests asking in Bylany. Before leaving, you can speak with their daughter Vendula and pass a speak check to learn about Mikush getting in a fight over dice.

Ask about Mikush in the tavern in Bylany

Head to Bylany to the tavern and speak with Chernik who should be sitting inside.

You have the option of passing a couple speech checks, playing dice, or just paying him outright to get him to talk.

Investigate Drat

He’ll give up information about a man named Drat who you need to check with next. He will be located somewhere in the farm north of the tavern.

You’ll have to pass one of three speech checks to get information out of him to start. You can then pass a couple of Hard persuasion checks to get him to give up further information. You’ll need to keep pushing him constantly to get him to give you all the correct information.

Go to the crossroads near the forest

After pushing Drat for enough for information he’ll give up what happened, and tell you about the crossroads near the forest that you should check out next.

Go northwest up the road a short distance where you can find some blood on the ground and examine it.

Follow the tracks

You will then need to follow the tracks into the woods. I short distance in your can find Mikush’s cap on the ground, which you can get Mutt to track with.

Save Mikush

Just before the stream, you can find a tent, where Mikush is located with the bandits.

The bandits won’t talk with you, so you can just run in and attack the pair. You can then examine Tailor Mikush on the ground. You will need to pass some skill checks to determine how to help him.

After inspecting him, first clean the wounds with alcohol, which you should be able to pick some Schnapps up near the fire if you need. Next put herbs on the wound, Feverfew is recommended, and you should be able to pick some nearby if you don’t have any on you.

Next, give him a potion. You can give him Aqua Vitalis, Marigold decoction, or Painkiller brew, the stronger the better. If you don’t already have a strong version of any of those you can pick up a Weak Marigold decoction from inside the white tent by the chest. Finally, bandage his wounds and pray for him if you want.

Save Svatava and Vendula

You’ll need to quickly go back to his house to save Svatava and Vendula. Note that the game makes an autosave as you approach before the conversation starts, so you can reload if you mess up.

When you approach you will have a couple of very fast timed choices you have to make to stop Hanka from killing Vendula. Choose the (negotiate) option first, then you have the choice of a few speech checks to get him to let her go. If you don’t think you can pass any of the speech checks, then the bottom option to pay him immediately makes him let her go.

If you get all of the information out of Drat about what happened with Hanka, you will have the extra option to tell him that there’s someone out there for everyone.

After you finish speaking with Hanka you’ll have the option of fighting him or letting him go. If you choose to fight you will have to kill him and the other two bandits, but this choice doesn’t affect the rest of the quest if you had talked him into letting Vendula go and had saved Mikush.

Talk to Svatava in the hut

Once the situation is dealt with, speak with Svatava in their hut.

Go to the door

After a short discussion, they’ll ask you to check the door, where Mikush will appear if you had successfully treated him.

Talk to Svatava

Go back inside and speak with Svatava, and she will ask you to go find their inheritance which is still located in Mesolas.

Find the treasure in Mesoles

Svatava will give you directions on where to locate the treasure in the burned-down village. First, head into the center of town to Mikush’s house. Be careful as you approach as you will likely be attacked by Wild Dogs. Be sure to only attack them with kicks if you are going for the Lent trophy/achievement.

The search area will expand to the south, you need to head to the edge of the forest below where you can find the handcart and shovel, along with a dig spot.

Interact with the chest and loot all of the items from it.

Return to Svatava with the family inheritance

You can then head back to the family’s home for a final time. You have the option of giving back all or some of the items, or lying to them and saying you didn’t find them.

This finishes The Heirloom side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

On [PC] this appears to be bugged. After saving Mikush at the bandit camp he ends up dead after the player saves the mother & daughter about having to save them. I speant about 4 hours trying different combinations of herbs and potions on the father (Mikush) to save him but he always ends up dead in the exact spot you leave him to save his wife & daughter. Hope it gets fixed in a future patch.

This is one of the most missable quests in KCD2 no? Nobody hinted at this quest and I only came across the Huntsman’s lodge West of Bylany because I already had the Explorer perk active and saw that undiscovered marker
