Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Fortuna Walkthrough

February 3, 2025 by PowerPyx 4 Comments

Fortuna is the 3rd main quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Fortuna main story quest.

Escape the Woods

The quest starts when Sir Hans is carrying you through the woods. Along the way you will see hallucinations and can tell Hans what you’re seeing. What you tell him doesn’t matter, it doesn’t affect anything. After a few minutes you will reach a hut which is followed by a series of cutscenes. Afterward you wake up in the hut and a healer named Bozhena has nursed you back to health. However, you lost most of your skill points from the fall. You have no other choice but to gain them back gradually over the rest of the game.

Note: All skills are “learning by doing”, from repeating actions related to the skill category. For example, lockpicking and pickpocketing raises the Thievery skill. Winning dialogues increases Speech and so on. Skills can also be improved by paying skill teachers or reading skill books.

Hans took a beating from a bandit who attacked the healer’s hut, he’s sleeping and recovering from his wounds. Bozhena gives you several objectives: to stop your bleeding, clean yourself, and eat.

Stop the bleeding

Press  to open the inventory and use 4 bandages to stop the bleeding. You automatically have them in your inventory.

Eat

Directly in front of your bed is a pot, interact with it twice to eat.

Splash water on yourself at the tub

Go outside and interact with the water tub directly in front of the house by the stairs.

Show yourself to Bozhena

Go back inside and talk to Bozhena again. You have some dialogue choices here. The correct dialogues you should pick are in bold.

  • “I know about herbs” > will fail (Reputation-)
  • “How do I recognise the herbs?” > explains that sage is a purple blossom, and chamomile is white petals with yellow center
  • “Lethean potion is dangerous, isn’t it?” > (no effect)

Dialogue 2:

  • “I think I can manage” > success (Reputation+)
  • “You’re right, I don’t feel great” > (no effect)

Optional Objective: Take the spade / Pick up the corpse / carry the corpse to the stream

Go outside, you will see a corpse in the corner in front of the house. Left of the corpse is a spade, pick it up. Then press :l1: / :lb: to carry the corpse.

A new objective marker with a red “I” should appear on the compass at the top of the screen. Head in that direction, follow the road in front of the house. When you reach the end of the road, Henry will complain about his shoulder hurting. The compass will show a yellow glow when you are in the correct area. It’s in front of a little stream.

Here you must dig a grave, look at the ground and the “Start digging :x: / :a: ” prompt will appear in the bottom right corner.

Pick up the corpse again and press :x: / :a: to bury it. This completes the optional task, it will gain you some extra reputation later with Bozhena and her daughter.

Pick chamomile / pick sage

Now follow the path behind the house, to the red “E” on the compass. It leads to the search area where the herbs are. Pick the Sage and Chamomile.

Sage:

Chamomile:

Fetch herbs for Bezhena

Return to Bezhena’s hut. On the way back you’ll hear trouble coming from the hut.

Get hold of a weapon / Arm yourself!

Two bandits will arrive at the hut. Grab the work axe from the right side of the path and equip it from the inventory.

You can solve this peacefully or forcefully. Solving it peacefully with dialogue is recommended, this gains you extra reputation with Bezhena and her daughter in later dialogues. They don’t want more corpses to bury.

Approach the bandits and hold :r1: / :rb: to reply “Let’s talk peacefully”.

  • “We’re messengers and we were ambushed” > they will attack you, they were the ones who ambushed your camp and are looking for you
  • “You don’t look like von Bergow’s men” > advances dialogue

Dialogue 2:

  • “You’re looking in the wrong place (Lie)” > situation solved peacefully without fight, the bandits leave (Reputation+)
  • “Clear off!” > fail (Reputation-)
  • “We sent them away (Lie)” > fail (Reputation-)

Afterward talk to the woman again.

  • “You deserve to know the truth” > (Reputation++), if you solved the situation peacefully you gain reputation twice
  • “I can’t tell you” > Reputation-

Dialogue 2:

  • “I’ll brew that remedy” > Reputation+
  • “Can’t you do it?” > Reputation-

Dialogue 3:

  • “I don’t know how” > no effect
  • “I have a little experience of alchemy” > Reputation+

Brew a healing potion

Follow Bozhena and interact with the alchemy bench behind her. Do all subobjectives correctly to brew the potion.

  1. Look in the book – turn right and interact with the book.
  2. Read the recipe and return to the bench – close the book
  3. Pour the correct base into the cauldron – left side, top shelf, take the Wine (second from left) and pour in cauldron
  4. Move the cauldron down – press
  5. Let the cauldron boil – press :l2: / :lt: to use bellows
  6. Move the cauldron up – press
  7. Open your inventory – press  and select Chamomile, Sage and confirm
  8. Toss in two handfuls of chamomile – top right shelf, pick Chamomile and throw in cauldron (twice)
  9. Turn the sandglass over – top right shelf, next to cauldron, use hourglass
  10. Brew the chamomile for one turn of the sandglass – press  > use Sandglass
  11. Move the cauldron up – when hourglass runs out press
  12. Grind a handful of sage – top right shelf, take sage, put in Mortar in front of cauldron, interact to crush it, put in cauldron
  13. Pour out the remedy – bottom left shelf, take Phial, hold :x: / :a: on cauldron

This will give you Strong Chamomile brew. Leave the table to finish, if done correctly you get Reputation+.

Sleep until morning

On the bed hold :x: / :a: to sleep at least until midnight. It will trigger some cutscenes. The healer’s daughter will talk to you when you awake.

  • “Better than yesterday” > no effect
  • “Battered” > no effect

Dialogue 2:

  • “Istvan Toth” > no effect
  • “My father” > no effect
  • “Father’s sword” > no effect
  • “A beautiful maiden (Lie)” > no effect
  • “It was just a dream, it doesn’t mean anything” > skips next dialogue

Dialogue 3:

  • “Thank you, I’ll think about it” > no effect
  • “I don’t care about old wives’ tales” > no effect

Join the others for breakfast

Go outside and sit on the bench where the others are having breakfast. More dialogue triggers.

  • “Sir Hans was captured by Cumans” > Reputation+
  • “To cut a long story short” > Reputation+

Dialogue 2:

  • “Brutal cut-throats!” > no effect
  • “Mercenaries from Hungary” > no effect

Dialogue 3:

  • “To cut a long story short” > no effect

Dialogue 4:

  • “How did you beat that cutthroat?” > no effect
  • “Thanks for getting me here” > no effect

At the end of the dialogues you get Reputation+ from the daughter if you did everything as outlined.

Talk to him next to the breakfast table.

  • “What about the rest of our company” > no effect

You are gifted the Hunting Sword after this.

    >“I know about herbs” > will fail (Reputation-)

If you will pick up all herbs from her garden, your lvl will be high enough to pass it

You can loot the dead body for a whole set of clothing. They are blood stained and I did the dialog with the robbers while wearing these. They didn’t notice. :D :D :D

If you pick up the sword beside the dead body Hans won’t give you one. Instead, he says good job and you earn reputation.
