In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (KCD2) there are two main ways to heal yourself: by sleeping in beds, and by consuming Marigold decoction potions.
Method 1: Sleep in Beds
Each hour you sleep in a bed restores some health. The more comfortable the bed, the more health is regained per hour. You unlock some beds for free as part of story quests. You can also rent beds at taverns. If you pay for the long term the bed will be yours permanently.
Two beds are unlocked early by doing either the Miller’s or Blacksmith’s first quest: Materia Prima or The Blacksmith’s Son. Then they give you a bed for free. You unlock more story-related beds later at Trosky Castle, Suchdol, Devil’s Den. Good locations to pay for permanent beds are Troskowitz inn and Kuttenberg inn.
You know it’s “your bed” when your player chest is next to it where you can store items. It will also say “Sleep and Save” unlike other beds which only say “Sleep”. Don’t sleep in other people’s beds, if they catch you, you must pay a fine.
Bonus: wherever you own a bed, you can eat for free from the soup pot without it counting as stealing. Sleeping reduces your nourishment, but after waking up you can immediately eat from the soup pot to be fully nourished. You can also go into other people’s houses and steal food from their pots.
Method 2: Drink Marigold decoction (Heal during Combat)
During combat you can only heal by drinking Marigold decoction potion. These come in 3 strengths: Weak, Regular, Strong. You can brew these yourself or buy them from apothecaries.
If you have a Pouch equipped (can be bought from various merchants such as saddlers), you can quickslot the Marigold decoction. Simply click on it in the inventory to put it in a pouch slot. The best pouches have 4 slots maximum. Only slotted potions can be consumed during combat. Outside of combat you can drink these potions directly from the inventory.
It heals you gradually over one minute. This means it doesn’t instantly restore a set amount of health, you need to wait a minute. Regular Marigold decoction restores 25 health, Strong Marigold 40 health.

In Trosky Region: Recipe of Marigold Decoction (~130 Groschen) + Strong Marigold Decoction (~41 Groschen) are bought from the apothecary in Troskowitz (reachable after Main Quest 4: Laboratores).
In Kuttenberg Region: Recipe of Marigold Decoction (~130 Groschen) + Strong Marigold Decoction (~41 Groschen) are bought from the apothecary in Kuttenberg (reachable after Main Quest 14: Speak of the Devil).
