Brushes with Death is the first DLC expansion for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, released on May 15th 2025.
How to start Brushes with Death
To start the Brushes with Death DLC you must have finished Main Quest 6: For Whom the Bells Tolls, which opens up Trosky Castle. After this, the DLC will be marked by a purple icon in Trosky region, slightly southeast of Trosky Castle. There you will find the enigmatic painter “Master Voyta” tied to a tree at the edge of the forest. Approach him for a cutscene.
After the cutscene you must help the painter which starts the Brushes with Death questline. All DLC quests are categorized as “Side Quests” in the game journal.
The DLC questline is still fully doable after the main story in free-roam. So if you already finished the game you won’t need to replay anything and can continue playing from your finished story save. This is the recommended method anyway as some dialogues require very high skill levels to succeed, which you likely wouldn’t have early in the game.
What new content does Brushes with Death add?
The DLC includes:
- A new side questline where you help an enigmatic painter, taking place in both Trosky and Kuttenberg regions.
- Paint any shield with new unique designs (unlocked after the first DLC quest for the painter)
- Some new weapons and armor from the painter’s questline
- Horse Riding Contests and Horse Archery Contests at the Nomad Camp in Trosky Region (marked on map as ‘New Activity’ by a gray shield icon)
